so there was this once drunk party last night...

THE MORNING AFTER MEME

Last night was great. You drank, you gambled, you ran around naked, you hooked up with a girl/guy or three-- too bad you can't remember it. Waking up in a hotel bed isn't so bad but...
Who is this person next to you?
You know how it is, folks!

1. Post with your character.
2. Tag other people and try and piece the night together or not. Up to you.
3. Anything allowed so long as muns are cool with it.
4. Profit!

[It's not "something more," man, Flynn's just easy. Welcome to friends with benefits. It's pretty sweet, until someone gets all neurotic about it.

Flynn laughs, but stops abruptly because ow.
]

Only if you're doing it very wrong. The headache's from the alcohol...which I guess answers the question of whether programs can get hangovers. It'll go away in a few hours, along with the nausea and the intense desire for death.

[ Programland is a beautiful place where Jalen overthinks things and has no concept of "friends with benefits". He'll learn, though. ]

Can anything be done in the meantime?

[ please say yes. You're the Creator, you can fix this, right? Right? ]

[That is an interesting question.]

I dunno, gimme your disc.

[It'll be like taking a computer science exam with a killer hangover, and Flynn's got plenty of experience with that.

He rolls over enough that Jalen's no longer pinned, despite protests from his head. God lord, he mixed beer and liquor last night, didn't he? How can it hurt so much when the brain doesn't have pain receptors?
]

If that doesn't work, Plan B: beat everything into submission with drugs.

[identity profile] alphaclass.livejournal.com 2011-05-07 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Jalen acquiesces, shifting slowly so he's lying flat on his stomach with his head resting on his forearms. Small relief.

His disc's all yours, Flynn.

[Jalen's the trusting sort. Fortunately, Flynn's the trustworthy sort. There is no way he's doing this live, so to speak, not for ISO code when his head's stuffed full of cotton wool and burning glass shards. He detaches the disc and flops over onto his back, not even noticing the familiar pressure of his own disc.

Flynn pokes at the code. Fuck miracles (like last night, apparently), why aren't you simple?

Oh, so that's what a hangover looks like in an ISO. It's actually kinda pretty. Mustering all his his severely reduced powers of concentration, starts teasing out the bad code.

[ Jalen just watches him. (Through squinted eyes, because as as used to bright lights as he is, everything seems to be slightly more intense than normal). Flynn's fingers are as dextrous as always, even with a similar headache, and Jalen has to shake himself out of thinking where those fingers might have been the night previous.

He doesn't know how long it's going to take, but the pressure in his head seems to be lessening with every passing second.

[Flynn works intently for several minutes, finally sweeping away the scraps of bad code with a gesture like brushing dust from a shoulder or sleeve. It drifts into the air in a cloud of sparkles that quickly fade to nothing.

He studies his handiwork.
]

That should do it.

[Flynn's as pleased with himself as the hangover will allow, and when he goes to reattach Jalen's disc, it's with an air of smugness.]

[identity profile] alphaclass.livejournal.com 2011-05-09 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ A pleased smile lifts the corners of his mouth as Flynn finishes. His head is clear, fresh; not a trace of exhaustion remains in his body now that Flynn's fixed his code, and that ever-present respect and appreciation probably shows on face. ]

Thank you, Flynn.

[ He sits up, re-energized. Regards him with a assessing look. ]

Is there anything I can do for you?
theuserabides: (Wait. Spring will come.)

[personal profile] theuserabides 2011-05-09 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Leave me to die in peace.

[Flynn pulls a pillow over his head.

It's possible he's not entirely serious.
]

[identity profile] alphaclass.livejournal.com 2011-05-09 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[ Jalen raises an eyebrow. ]

Mhm.

Do you have any of these 'drugs' on hand?
theuserabides: (Default)

[personal profile] theuserabides 2011-05-09 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Try behind the mirror in the bathroom. They'll be labeled "painkiller" or "analgesic."

[Flynn's voice is muffled by the pillow he hasn't bothered to move. Clu comes by that dramatic streak honestly.]

If you could bring a glass of water, that would help, too.

[identity profile] alphaclass.livejournal.com 2011-05-09 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
[ The appropriate pill bottles aren't hard to find, but securing a glass from the kitchen takes a bit more time. He returns, padding back to Flynn's bed, with the glass of water and drugs in hand. The mattress sinks down as he kneels on it.

Your medicine, Flynn: delivered specially by naked ISO.

[That's gotta be somebody's kink.

Flynn (who has stopped dramatizing and is now sitting up, leaning against the headboard) gives Jalen a warm but tired smile.
]

Thank you.

[Awright, self-medication time. Flynn defeats the childproof cap with ease and washes down more pills than is probably strictly necessary with a gulp of water. Unlike programming, pills don't work instantly, but the water is at least taking care of that roadkill-in-mouth problem.]
