[Chell freezes the instant physical contact is made. She's still not used to people touching her -- contact was something to be avoided in the Enrichment Center, and she abruptly jerks away from him.

For a long moment she just stares at him, her mind on high alert as she processes what just happened, and eventually she comes to the surprising conclusion that... that wasn't actually terrible?

Hesitantly, she leans in and mimics him, pressing her lips against his. After a few seconds she pulls back and looks at him, shy and unsure.

Is she doing it right?]

[Jack isn't used to physical contact that doesn't come in the form of lead pipe to the face, either. If it hadn't been for the sudden compulsion (and boy was he susceptible to compulsions) he would not have dared to touch Chell. Or anyone, really.

He jerks back when she does and meets her wide-eyed stare of confusion with one of his own. He stands his ground when she leans in again, mostly certain that she doesn't plan to rip his lips off with her teeth and... oh.

My. But isn't that nice?

Jack touches his lips when she pulls away that second time and a small, shy smile spreads across his face.

He tilts his head a fraction and leans in just a bit. Yes, she is doing it right and can they do it again?]

[Why, yes. Yes, they can.

She leans forward to meet him, more a little more confidant this time around. It's still wild and uncharted territory, and she still doesn't quite know what she's doing, but she's forging on regardless.

She's not entirely sure what to do with her hands. For a while they sort of hang between them as though she's about to push him away, but eventually she decides to wrap his arms around her waist and back. It's more contact, and she has no idea if this is some horrible breach of etiquette she's committing, but it's nice, holding someone like this.
