When Hypatia started showing signs of rampancy, Sarah was one of the first ones to see the danger for what it was. Her first response was to get John off the station and on a shuttle to Asphodel, just as fast as she could. Sarah herself stayed behind to try to get York and her other friends to safety.
Unfortunately, York wasn't quite as willing to believe that things were as bad as Sarah insisted they were. He convinced her to wait a few days, to try to figure out if there was something they could do to put a stop to things from the station. That was just the opportunity Hypatia needed.
When she reached into York's armor and repurposed Delta, York was shocked and devastated. Sarah was less shocked, but losing Delta was hard for her too - seeing what the loss did to York, even more so. Sarah saved York from his own AI-controlled armor and they escaped onto the planet, though not without injuries. They've been working with the Resistance ever since, though trying to keep a low profile.
