OKAY GUYS SO I WANT TO APP A THIRD CHARACTER but I am not sure which version of him to do. SO I AM GOING TO POLL YOU INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY MAKING DECISIONS
The character is Ienzo / Zexion from Kingdom Hearts. In canon, Ienzo is a derp with no lines who doesn't know when to run when HIDEOUS MONSTERS come after him, and this is probably why he later loses his heart and becomes Zexion, who is a manipulative little sociopath with no heart and a GIANT BOOK.

OKAY SO ABOUT THESE AUs...
CANON AU
Terra, Aqua, and Ven didn't fail; instead, Terra was not an idiot and he successfully defeated Xehanort, therefore, Xehanort never took his body and he never ended up in Hollow Bastion. Thus, the experiments in Darkness never happened, and Ienzo grew up normally. Or, well, relatively normally.
Thus, Ienzo grew up as an apprentice to Ansem the Wise, working in thaumaturgics (the scientific study of magic) and psychology. As of this AU, he's fifteen years old but has, essentially, gone through his universe's equivalent of undergrad, and is now in graduate school. With all of the requisite ARGH GRAD SKOOL angst but in a teenager. Oops. He often has to babysit Kairi as he is the youngest; he last saw her when she was ten years old and finally having to take on actual princess duties.
Personality wise! Ienzo has selective mutism, so he has trouble talking to strangers, but if you are a friend or talking to him through text he is TL;DR in the extreme. He's rather arrogant, has a weird sense of humor, and often over-justifies his actions. He's not evil, but he has a certain ends-justify-the-means attitude that in another life would have cost him his heart. He's got insatiable curiosity about everything. Sometimes he can be rather manipulative towards his own ends, but ultimately he means well. His survival instincts also utterly suck and so if he encounters something like, oh, say, GRID or PYRAMID HEAD he's likely to just STAND THERE and go "hmm fascinating :Oa " before he either gets rescued or eaten.
Secretly, he has always wanted to 1. go to other worlds and 2. write science fiction novels, so he will be jazzed to be here until he finds out that oh wait magic doesn't really exist and so he'll never actually be able to apply that thing he's been working on a PHD in :|
BIOSHOCK AU
Bioshock is about an underwater city that takes Ayn Rand a little too seriously and bad shit happens because of this. In this AU, instead of Andrew Ryan, we had Ansem Wiseman, his adopted son, Xehanort, and his actual granddaughter, Kairi. Basically, here Ansem takes the place of Ryan and Xehanort takes Fontaine's place, only with 10x more family angst involved instead of just grr gangsters.
Ienzo would have been a science journalist who left the surface because he got tired of his writing constantly getting subjected to dumbass editors who wanted sensationalism. He wanted to report truth, dammit. As such, he got involved with Wiseman Industries on the ground floor when ADAM was first discovered. Initially, Ienzo stayed on the sidelines, but he grew more and more fascinated with the substance until he decided that the only way to really report on ADAM was to get some modifications himself. Xeh gave him a Chameleon plasmid, and everything seemed fine... until, of course, he became addicted to the stuff, and kept coming back for more. Xeh basically enslaved him (along with twelve others) and eventually they became his shock troops, elite soldiers for the interests of the Wiseman company. They tried and failed to overthrow Ansem, who became increasingly paranoid; Xeh seemed to die in the process (supposedly killed by a man named Terra, who mysteriously disappeared soon after).
Later, a man named Xemnas emerged, with thirteen ADAM enhanced cronies. They styled themselves as champions of the underclass, and on New Years Eve staged a revolt. The city then began to dissolve into chaos, as demand for ADAM outstripped supply. TL;DR, everyone went crazy! Harhar!
Other information... Kairi in this continuity is a Little Sister; she'd eventually be essentially Eleanor Lamb from Bioshock 2; Sora takes Jack's place; and Riku takes the place of Subject Delta. I don't have the actual plots of the first and second game worked out hobviously, just the backstory.
It isn't that important anyway as Ienzo would be taken before the fall of Rapture; he'd have his first plasmid, but wouldn't be kuh-raaaaaazee yet.
Yet... being the operative word because without regular doses of ADAM his mutations are going to start getting out of control and he's going to become completely psychotic within the first month. Haha. >>;
*edit* OH RIGHT Personality...
Ienzo would be very similar to the other AU personality at the point in the AU where i=I'm taking him from. Nice; a bit self-centered, over-justifies things, likes SCIENCE! Main differences are: he's older (24), has much stronger self-preservation instincts but an even stronger desire to stick his nose where it doesn't belong, is a writer so there's no secrets here, and isn't mute in any way shape or form.
As the ADAM takes hold, he'll get more and more genuinely insane, in the KEKEKEKE >3 way.
