TRACKING MODE. TRACKING MODE. It was here, it was here and it could be found. For something who's entire career, ne existence, hinged on it's abilities to track something down like the big, hulking bloodhound made out metal and barbie parts that it was, it was doing a pretty terrible job at it right now.

There's having an off day, and then there's trying to track and capture a shadow. No, the cyborg was not chasing metaphors, but an actual honest to John Connor shadow. And, for a moment, the Terminator honestly thought it had it. Just for a second.

Said shadow had just manipulated it's tangibility and size in ways the cyborg's Dr. Science computer brain couldn't explain, slipping under the slightest rise of a steel door. That was the second where the Terminator was under the impression it was going to manage the impossible and catch the damn thing.

The second after was an eight hundred pound cyborg in just as heavy military equipment sliding on the metal flooring on all fours like a dog that ran on linoleum floors too fast after coming in from a snow storm. It’s only buffer was the door the shadow just escaped under, it’s only stop was the Terminator careening into it, accompanied by a crash so loud it could’ve been an action movie sound effect. An observer from outside the door would have seen the seven inch thick slab buckle and bend outward ala Looney Toons.

Shadow blocked, but not defeated, the Terminator pulled itself out of the mini crater of it’s own creation and instead of running the Open The Door Protocol, ran it’s sub-routine, drop back down on all fours to scratch and claw at the space under the door while screaming and clicking like a robot lemur on steroids. It wasn't super effective.

It was only able to admit it’s undeniable, world-shattering defeat when the shadow came back out from under the door, manipulated it’s form enough to return to its hide out in the cyborg’s plate carrier and chirped along with the cyborg’s clicks.

And then the shadow was the winrar.

“Not a clone,” Red shrieked as Dinobot took off after her through the woods. She'd listened with the blankest look as he'd recited a bunch of poetry that she couldn't decipher. It was only when his posture shifted into attack mode that she became interested in what he had to say again.

Maybe bothering Dinobot about mating for the fortieth time that week had been too much. What kind of stupid male didn't want to mate, though? She felt him nipping at her heels as she ran and she skidded to a stop only to have him barrel into her. The two of them rolled around with the leftover force- but that was all it took for instincts to take over.

Months later, the station was overrun by sentient dinosaurs.
