He, Wash and Sarah have been living together for a little while now, finding safety in numbers. Along the way, they lost Delta, but York's been trying this whole time to get him back because losing him hasn't left him the most sane of the trio.
He's taken to making more careless mistakes-- less logical ones, if you will, but no matter what, the other two always come first.
He'll work with people to help them, but right now is more concerned with surviving and making sure the other two survive, and then working on a way to get the place back. His first and foremost concern is Delta, though, and he's constantly seeking ways to fix that, even if it's not the smartest way.
