She has delicately tapered ears, brown hair with unnaturally vivid golden and honey highlights (that are, in fact, natural), grey eyes with not a hint of any color in them, and features that are rather beautiful, in an unnerving way - too angular and inhuman, but still Toby.
She has plenty of scars, and her eyes were actually completely destroyed in an attempted raid on the station - glamouring them is the only aesthetic magic she does on herself, because she's told the scars are rather frightening. Summary: Toby stayed as long as she could, getting as many people off the station as she could before leaving. She left Jade behind on the station because the girl didn't want to go - she's never really forgiven herself for that. She also wasn't able to find Buffy, who had already been hacked and incapacitated before the escape, and she's never forgiven herself for that, either.
Afterwards, she threw herself into the rebellion, because that is what Toby does. She participated in raids early on, mostly trying to rescue Jade and Buffy. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Hypatia used her knowledge about Toby to her advantage, and Toby's last raid ended in an attack by a robot with iron weapons. Toby ended up blinded and a bit mangled, and it was sheer good luck that allowed the other people in the raid to actually get her back alive. Sheer willpower and May's tears gave her the push she needed to burn the iron out of her blood - barely - and kept her from getting too sick or worse. In the process, she managed to find a way to change the balance of her own blood. She's become more pureblood since then, bit by bit, and the amount of magic she can do (even blind) has increased significantly.
She's currently working on using a combination of her heightened senses and a little bit of magic to learn to fight with a sword again, blindness aside. She's not sure if it'll ever actually be a viable form of defense for her, but she's working on it.
