Sacrosanct is a nightmare, but it's at least a comfortable one. Out here in the wastes, he's miserable. Biting wind, choking dust, and worst of all, nothing but drones for company. Hypatia sends him here often. He thought he'd get used to it, but so far he dreads the trip every time. Still, he goes. He's of no use to anyone if he disobeys and winds up dead.
Here he is, on another run to the planet, a digital list in his head of tasks. The faster he finishes, the sooner he'll be back where he can keep an eye on the kids, even if it means nothing in the long run. Even if he fails them, he has to try.
Thus why he goes on alert the moment his mechanical eye warns him of movement nearby.
