Depends on what I'd be sacrificing. And what for.

It's a general question, fill in the blanks as you see fit. But if you wanted a more narrow situation:

Sacrificing something or someone you genuinely care about for the wellbeing and preservation of values worth upholding.

Again, it depends. If 'giving up' means losing them as a friend or whatever, yeah, I'd do that.

If it meant letting them get hurt or killed... I don't know. I hope I never have to find out.
