MAYBE EVEN BOTH. Hawke seems to roll that way with a lot of her biffles. "I WANT YOU TO STFU BUT WE'RE STILL BESTIES."

Maybe if she finds her mabari in the junkyard he can train Dug to be a REAL predator. Yeah. Death and demon of squirrels all over space.

That Mabari has a college education on Dug. I'm amazed Dug has been trained in anything. BUT HE'S CUTE AND FLUFFY, so it works out.
