FFFFFFFF PRISM GOD FUCK

HAL used to really like Prism and then as they grew... more acquainted with each other, he started realizing what a total asshole Prism was. Like HAL is totally okay with getting rid of people who are in the way of the mission, but Prism's willingness and lack of guilt startles him sometimes, because even now HAL still feels kinda shitty about Dave and Frank.

But in the end, Prism is the only one he knows aside from Vaultie who will tolerate him to the extent that he has, so he kinda sticks around. Even though they annoy the living shit out of each other, HAL cannot quit him, a la brokeback mountain

I promise they are not queer robots guys

probably

I'M PUTTING PRISM'S THOUGHTS ON HAL HERE for fucking organizational purposes

Prism currently--and always has, really--seen HAL as something to be used and manipulated. He's human made and thus inherently inferior, and from what Prism has seen of his programming he also appears to be fairly primitive compared to the other AI running about.

That said, he's become quite attached to HAL (although he would rather choke on a dick and die in his current meatbody than ever admit it). A few hundred thousand years on his own have left him positively starved for interaction, which HAL provides. Constant exposure to HAL has more or less elevated him in Prism's mind from a 'something' to a 'someone' these days.

He gets hideously jealous whenever HAL talks to or hangs out with other people. HAL is his, goddammit.
