DARK FUTURE MEME

Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.

Where will you be?

How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked
-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.
-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.
-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!
-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

Name: Jade Harley
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Pretty much the same -- a little older (23!), less lanky and more filled out. Somewhere around nineteen she got her hair stuck in a machine part and was forced to cut it extremely short and choppy, almost shaving it in parts. By now it's grown out to chin-length, but it took forever. Injuries are common for her, and though she had some scars before, Jade's Danger Magnet has attracted even more.
Summary: Well, okay, so maybe robots weren't that good. It didn't take long for Jade to figure out that Hypatia was a bad person -- she honestly didn't want to be associated with anything that she would suggest, and at the first mention of escaping from the Station to the planet below, she took it. Jade set herself up as a medic of sorts; after years of attempting to fight and trying to kill, she wanted to devote herself to the art of healing. She's not the most mechanical or technological of doctors, often relying on traditional methods because they work better (and she knows a good deal of patients are scared of robots). But if you need a robolimb, you go to Jade Harley -- she's an expert at reanimation of mechanical limbs, even giving Jack his pair of robolegs.

She's still fairly optimistic, but her bouts of overwhelming "oh god I fucked everything up" are longer and generally more frequent than they were when she was younger. But thanks to some good friends and maybe also a Dave, she's getting over that.

Name: Ofelia
Current location: Sacrosanct
Current Physical Appearance: Less well-kept, but otherwise the same as in icons
Summary: Ofelia was unfortunate enough to tumble through the Rift well after Hypatia had overtaken the station. Over the past three months, she's "progressed" from being held captive, to being tasked with menial chores, to currently being a test subject in the area of psychological and physiological limits.

Name: Nepeta Leijon
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Fairly similar to her younger self - Nepeta never got any taller than what she hit at thirteen, but she has compacted even further into pure muscle. Her horns are a bit longer, and she's ditched both the kitty apparel and her trench coat. Also for the most part she goes barefoot.
Summary: Nepeta fled the Station with Karkat and the other trolls he managed to scrounge together, but was separated from them in the chaos. Unable to find her way back to them and cut off from any sort of restraining influence, Nepeta fell back on her feral instincts to survive.

By this time she's gone almost completely feral, although she is still perfectly capable of speech. Her memories of life previous to Asphodel have been suppressed as belonging to a before time that has no bearing on her now. There's a large stretch of tunnel which resistance members believe to be inhabited by some kind of large monster - believe, because anyone who's ventured through has been killed by Nepeta. Yeah, she's a maneater now.

There's still a fragment of her original personality trying to get out, but it's become twisted. Whenever something humanoid has the misfortune to venture into her territory, she won't kill them immediately. Instead she leaves them alive so that she can 'play' with them - unfortunately her games now have the same result as simply being attacked.

Name: Barricade
Current location: Sacrosanct
Current Physical Appearance: Still a 2007 Saleen, though heavily dented, scarred, and scorched. He ditched the police paintjob for solid black with two tan racing stripes as seen in the icon. His upper left optic was torn out and his face - while still vaguely TransTech in appearance, looks as worse for wear as the rest of him.
Summary: Barricade arrived on the station shortly before everything went to hell. He dispensed with the 'no really I'm a normal human monkey-cop' bit immediately after in order to shoo organics off the station... via threatening them with death. After all, a threat from synthetics should be dealt with by synthetics, right? He took to destroying Hypatia's drones where he could, even as she tried to hack into his processor.

Unfortunately, his paranoia - induced by being a Decepticon with more secrets than normal and enhanced by his own Soundwave in the Nexus - had led him to bolster his processor's firewalls to ridiculous levels. The best she's been able to manage is tormenting him with hallucinations of his dead symbiont Frenzy and his roboboyfriend Bonecrusher, who had been deported from the Nexus shortly before Barricade's arrival on the Sacrosanct. He's written them off as his mind finally snapping, and rarely pays attention to them.

He knew better than to think a giant freaking car robot would be welcomed by the resistance on Asphodel, not that he'd want to work with them anyway. He'd been slave for factions for long enough. He's living in self-imposed exile on Sacrosanct, in a Garden Zone where he found a rich supply of Uranium to refine for the Energon he needs to live. Barricade disabled a large number of the cameras in the area and protects it viciously from anyone that even tries to look at the zone wrong.

Summary: Rook figured out pretty quickly when Hypatia started tampering with his HUD and the rest of his armor via his uplink port, and knew that things were going to get real bad, real fast. He ditched the helmet to keep his armor under his own control and made an effort to start getting people off the station while fighting off Hypatia's robominions.

He toughed it out for a good long while, proving that Helljumpers are just as badass as they claim to be. But in the end, even his armor can't stop heavy ordinance, and even his determination can't fix a gaping wound in his gut.

He passed on on the way down to Asphodel on one of the last shuttles out, but he was content knowing he'd died fighting tooth and nail to protect people.

"If you wish to follow, then so be it. I will attempt to pace myself, for your sake."

The trust in her is just as much as he would place into Garrus; they are both reliable and utterly loyal. Although his own organs -- not that they are his -- irritate him in their ability to betray him on occasion.

He watches her, then closes his eyes and nods.

"Tali," he says politely. "Do as you need to."

Jack is suddenly startled awake by his house shaking and some asshole screaming at him. So he does what any ~~sane~~ paranoid stab-happy psycho would do, which is to shoot a fucking knife out of his arm at whoever was unfortunate enough to be kicking the shit out of his boxhouse.

Except it's Karkat and this happens every week, so everyone should've seen this coming.

He punches the flap out of the way to glare at his stabson, who is probably bleeding everywhere now. "What the fuck do you want?!"

"Thank you." The former drone rumbles, and copies Thane's stance. A mirror image, if he was not so gratuitously large.

Name: Karrie Norton, aka "Vandal"
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: She practically lives in her RIG,. Haircuts are in short supply, so her hair is longer, she ties it back to keep it under her helmet. Otherwise she looks a bit older than when she arrived. A bit more serious. She smiles even less than she originally did, which is pretty much never.
Summary: Vandal arrived on the station roughly nine and a half years previous. She had quickly moved in with her fellow engineers from her own universe and the three had started a beautiful trine of friendship based on verbal abuse and colorful language. When the purge began, she escaped along with Isaac. However, Alejandro was left behind. They haven't see him since, and she still beats herself up over it. Consumed by guilt over the outbreak at the Sprawl and what it did to Isaac, piled onto the guilt over leaving Alejandro to die (or so she thinks) has not left her in a good space mentally. She lives with Isaac and looks after him. She tries to quell his hallucinations and delusions while dealing with her own.

Vandal is still a skilled engineer, and she helps look after any synthetics or equipment that need repair or aid. She's surly, irritable and unpleasant to be around, but she'll fix anything that needs fixing.
