Dark Future Meme (as requested)
[We know who it is we want. We have a collective mind.
We don't miss a single step. We're always right behind.
We know we serve someone else. We have swallowed our pride.
We march to this tune of loss. We take this in our stride.]
Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.
Where will you be?
How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked
-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.
-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.
-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!
-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

THANE KRIOS
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Thane doesn't look too much different. Different clothing (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/3/30014/1308413-alternate_appearance_03_o_super.jpg), minus the sunglasses.
Summary: Once upon a time, Thane's organs were removed by SHODAN and Motoko; they were replaced with mechanical ones. We all know this story; it's in-game canon. However, Hypatia saw a possibility; with the most deadly assassin in the galaxy under her control, Thane would be an excellent agent. As such, she tormented him and attempted to break him in by occasionally turning off his lungs or heart for a few seconds and generally causing him pain through his mechanical organs. Between this and the constant hallucinations of his dead wife and other Marker shenanigans, it was very trying. Eventually, Skyfire had to carry Thane out from Sacrosanct and take him to Asphodel so he wouldn't suffer any longer, despite Thane's protests. Since then, Thane has been actively working at Asphodel, shooting down any threats with keen precision. On occasion, Hypatia's signal breaks through and causes him internal pain, but this only lasts a few seconds at a time.
Thane in general is far more cold, detached, and projects himself to appear indifferent. He wants to do right by this world and destroy Hypatia, but he finds holding most things and people at arm's length would be the best method. If you have been repurposed by Hypatia, chances are Thane has or is going to shoot you.
time for some DEPRESSAN
He remembers following Thane around, pestering him, once he'd learned his past. It seemed like a different life then, bothering him, trying to make his life better. Trying to make a lot of lives better. A futile effort in the end, but it never stopped him from desperately clinging to that hope.
Now he's no longer strong enough to try to pull the drell along. Now they simply coexist in the same area. Perhaps it's part of him that is still drawn to Thane because of a memory of "friendship". He ghosts after the assassin fairly regularly, rarely exchanging words with him, but his presence is there.
Today he has followed Thane to the training center that he often visits alone. He watches him, HUD glowing, hiding his face behind his battle-mask. How odd he'd find himself wearing one of those.
He tips his head and examines the forms that Thane practices.
[SSSSOUNDTRACK. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0okLSOznMI)]
YEEHAW
Until he's out there, shooting down the faces of who had once been allies, it matters little to him.
The drell follows the forms of many. Smoothly, he transitions, from the arts he'd learned in his childhood, tactical practices of the turians, what he'd learned from practicing with Anon those years ago--
Then he stops. Slowly, he sits, folding his hands together.
Then turns his head.
"Skyfire," he says impersonally, politely.

Here is the person who had been responsible for showing him the 'light', as it were. It had been intended to end his life. Quick. Merciful. Painless. A shot to the head and he'd have been relieved. But that's too easy a way out for him. He has to live this punishment.
He moves to stand in front of Thane, a small distance away.
"Continue. Please." He requests evenly.
no subject
"I prefer not to," Thane responds, his tone having a slight edge. "The more you observe, the more you learn something new. For both our sakes, it's best if you do not learn much from me."
The unspoken possibility that one day, possibly, if Hypatia wins over Skyfire again...
"What can I do for you?"
no subject
He nods.
"I would like to watch."
He thinks a moment.
"Something not for combat. For meditation." Forms not for fighting, but concentration.
"You find some peace through these, correct?" His voice crackles with static through the filter.
no subject
The drell's hands fold together. "For you, it would involve breathing, and thinking of nothing. Absolutely nothing. To release your muscles. I am uncertain what else you can learn by simply watching me."
no subject
He checks his data banks.
"Similarity to; Tai-Chi. I have see you practice this before. I do not know your name for it."
Thinking of absolutely nothing gives him pause. A moment to let her thoughts seep in and poison him again. He is always running some kind of sub-process as white noise. Really, it does little but keep the demons at bay. He is unwilling to let that go.
no subject
A pause, then he adds a bit wryly, more true to himself, "Then there's always the shooting range, if none of that works to quell me."
Thane has a lot of pent up aggression. Despite his training, it's hard to ignore it.
no subject
"The shooting range is for stress. This is functional for focus. Perhaps it would be useful to be practiced in that order." He states flatly, not aware that his statement is just a little humorous in the sense of how serious he's being.

So he changes it up. Not quite following the path he should.
Thane touches his own nose, curious to see if Skyfire would follow that too.

She was aware, if only vaguely, of what Hypatia had done and continued to do to Thane through his synthetic organs; the idea of turning someone's own body against them like that turned her stomach, so in her way, she wanted to try and stop it. Sometimes, she offered to set his equipment up with firewalls that would block Hypatia's signal, but even if he did accept them, it wasn't like something she programmed would outwit an AI of Hypatia's caliber forever. It proved to be quite vexing.
"Thane," she said crisply as she approached, her omnitool already out.
no subject
He watches her, then closes his eyes and nods.
"Tali," he says politely. "Do as you need to."
no subject
"How has the firewall been working? Has it kept Hypatia's signal from finding you?"
