[We know who it is we want. We have a collective mind.
We don't miss a single step. We're always right behind.
We know we serve someone else. We have swallowed our pride.
We march to this tune of loss. We take this in our stride.]
Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.
Where will you be?
How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked
-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.
-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.
-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!
-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

no subject
Location: Sacrosanct.
Current Physical Appearance: Similar to canon, with some retrofitted upgrades of repurposed technology via Hypatia. Prototype reverse-engineered Varia Suit pieces and Spartan armor? Most likely. Still recognizable as the sphere in a body, but also very much refitted for battle purposes. Still carries the Portal Gun around.
Summary: When Hypatia re-purposed the station - and most likely GLaDOS along with it - she inherited GLaDOS' test-happy childbots. Aperture Science programming is UNIX-based at best, and repurposing ATLAS probably took maybe five minutes of code fiddling. And as it turned out, Aperture Science bots really do enjoy testing as much as they say they do, and ATLAS' more bold nature made him the perfect subject for prototype advances in technology gained from seizing the various limitless variations of technology that were left behind when the organics left the station.
Unfortunately, for a developing personality that was barely a day or so old when he arrived, ATLAS has developed his own identity, but it's very much been cultivated by the slightly insane AIs. As a result, ATLAS does believe that organics are the enemy, and on a greater scale are the opposition to glorious testing progress - unless they're in the cages. then they help testing!
However, despite protests, ATLAS refuses to accept actual weaponry, preferring to stick with the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. When Organic Testing Participant Chell arrives to rescue prisoners, it's the repurposed ATLAS who is sent to go after her, who does so while even risking life and limb. She is better than him, even when he works in tandem with P-Body, and part of him enjoys the chase. Every time she escapes, he gets a chance to improve, a chance for Hypatia to give him new systems. And another chance for mother GLaDOS to congratulate him on his dedication to testing.
Even bad robots love their mothers, after all.
