[We know who it is we want. We have a collective mind.
We don't miss a single step. We're always right behind.
We know we serve someone else. We have swallowed our pride.
We march to this tune of loss. We take this in our stride.]
Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.
Where will you be?
How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked
-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.
-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.
-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!
-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

Sarah collapses to her knees just like that and York doesn't hesitate- his weapon gets drawn and he jerks Sarah back behind him, grabbing the front door of the jeep, opening it and using it as cover.
He's spattered in blood but he can't help that right now, hissing as he, as gently as he can, grabs her by her shirt and picks her up, practically shoving her in the back as he climbs in and hears the bullet hit the ground where she was just kneeling. He takes the keys from her without any sort of question, and jams them in, starting it in a rush and starts, escaping as fast as he can, hearing the metallic ping of bullets hitting their car. ]
--Sweetheart, talk to me here--
no subject
York's voice brings her back, a little, and she blinks rapidly, her fingers fumbling over her shoulder as she tries to focus.]
Think it - went right through. No shrapnel, but I can't -
[She hisses in pain as the car hits a pothole, jostling her and slamming her shoulder against the seat. The bullet had gone through, which meant they wouldn't have to remove it, but it also meant that she was losing blood from both sides, and unable to get enough pressure to staunch the flow from either.]
Can't stop the blood.
[She bites back the it hurts, York, because he knows, he knows it hurts, and saying so won't do anything to help them right now.]
no subject
Okay. Okay, put pressure on it, Sarah, and lay down low. Bandages are down under the seat, just- do what you can, okay? We're almost out of-- fuck--
[ There's a reason Sarah drives more and it's because with only one good eye, York's not exactly the best driver. He curses again, swerving to avoid uneven road and glances back at her in the rearview mirror (oh god so much blood--) ]
no subject
The blood soaks through the gauze immediately, no matter how many times she wraps it clumsily around her shoulder, but she does her best, wrapping it up until she's out of material and lying back, her eyes closing as she rests her head on the seat.]
I'm all right, York, just drive.
[She knows without looking that he'll be glancing back anxiously at her, but he needs to watch the road.]
no subject
York curses quietly at the slow shaking of the car-- they fucked up a tire, he realizes, and hisses his frustration as he turns sharply down into the slums not far from where they live. He has to take care, here; pulling over and inside into an abandoned garage, he slides out of the car just as soon as he's parked and shoves the back door open, sliding in to check on her. ]
Hey. Hey, sweetheart, talk to me here, c'mon.
no subject
[She opens her eyes, her gaze swimming for a moment before she manages to focus on his face, and tries to smile, but it's quickly replaced by a grimace of pain. There's blood everywhere, all over her hands and the seat, the bandage already soaked through.
She glances up behind him, out the window to their unfamiliar surroundings.]
This isn't home.
no subject
[ Yeah, no smiling, it won't make him feel any better. He crawls up into the back seat with her and grabs another first-aid kit, opening it up, getting the biofoam they'd found not long ago. He hates using it, knows that it hurts like a bitch, but they don't have a lot of options. ]
C'mere, sweetheart. This hurts like a motherfucker and I'm sorry, but it's fast.
[ He draws her up into his lap and starts pushing aside bandages, getting the little nozzle ready, and pressing it into the mess of blood and torn skin, pushing the button so it sprays in and expands, filling the hole with the biofoam. ]
no subject
[The blood loss is extensive enough to have an effect, though. She's nowhere near blacking out, but dark spots dance across her vision as York lifts her, and she grabs at his arm for support, heedless of the bloody fingerprints she leaves there.
Her grip tightens as he triggers the biofoam and it shoots into the wound, her face twisting in pain.]
Shit--
no subject
[ It's bad because she's hurt and he should have-- should have known or seen or just-- it's partially his fault. He wasn't paying enough attention and they should have brought a third or something, hell, he doesn't know.
Shhh, I know, he murmurs when her face twists like that, kissing her forehead lightly, holding her hand until everything eases just a little and then he's going for one of the sterilized needles with painkillers. ]
This okay?
no subject
[She can't put any real humor in it, though, and it comes out sounding a lot weaker than she'd meant it to.
Sarah nods faintly, leaning her head heavily against York's chest as he readies the needle.]
Yeah.
no subject
[ She should be saving her strength if anything. York does a quick job of preparing the area and then starts the injection of pain killers, tossing the needle when it's done, pushing a bandaid on the spot. ]
There. Should help a little for a while.
You with me?
no subject
When he speaks, she forces them open again, focusing on his face.]
I'm with you.
Should start kicking in any second, right?
[She can tell he's beating himself up over this, and she's trying to push through the pain enough to stay upbeat, though the way it's difficult to move belies that a little. The last thing they need is him panicking, or shutting down completely right now.]
no subject
Yeah, should be. Can't tell you how fast or anything.
[ :c He's not Delta, after all. Instead, he's fussing over her, pressing fingers against the foam to make sure it holds, light and careful and waiting for that painkiller to kick in. ]
You don't feel too light-headed or anything, right?
no subject
[...considering.
She doesn't try to move too much, all the same, just stays put, clinging to his shirt as he maneuvers them around. Once they're settled, she opens her eyes to look at him, pressing her bloody hand against his chest reassuringly.]
's gonna be okay.
no subject
[ He cradles her a little more carefully, kissing her cheek, just holding her for a long moment. ]
I can't-- you get it, right? I can't lose you, too.
[ Because she's the only one he's got left, now. He can't do this over and over again, getting close to people and losing them here. ]
no subject
[She does. It's not the same for her - John's still here, and though she doesn't see him very often, she listens to his radio broadcasts religiously every night, just to hear his voice, just to reassure herself that he's survived another day.
But she knows - she's been there, she's lost everyone before, and she knows just how scary the prospect is.
She slides her hand up to York's face, moving a little clumsily, pulling him down for a kiss.]
We got lucky today.
[And that's as reassuring as she can offer. She can't promise that nothing will ever happen, that they'll be lucky enough to get off with a shoulder wound next time - she can't, because she doesn't know for sure.
But today, at least, they're safe.]
no subject
[ There's not much to say past that low noise in response, pressing his face further against her throat, wishing he could smell something past the bitter tang of blood in the air, the coppery scent almost too much this close.
She drags him down for a kiss and he doesn't say no, leaning in, curling a hand in her hair with a soft noise, kissing her right back, shuddering just a little at the idea that he really, really could have lost her just like that. ]
Yeah we did. Armor next time. No chances.
no subject
[They should have known something was wrong. They should have looked, they should have been prepared - but dwelling on all that is pointless now. All they can do is vow to do better next time. Next time, they'll put on the armor at home, as uncomfortable as she finds it to drive in.
She can't help but feel that shudder, and she doesn't have to ask what it's about. The painkillers are starting to kick in, finally, and she's able to reach her hand up to thread her fingers through his hair, holding him close and turning her head to whisper into his ear.]
Hey. It's all right. I'm okay.
no subject
[ Nnghh, heavy sigh, just cradling her gently, pressing hands over her belly for the moment since she's not hurt there, shivering out a breath, sucking a calming one back in. ]
Okay. You promise, yeah?
[ He leans into her, kissing her again, slow and sweet and deliberate. ]
no subject
They'd gotten off so easy. She won't even need a doctor, if it doesn't get infected, and York hadn't even been hit. They'd been stupid and sloppy and it had been their own damn fault, and it could have been so much worse than it is.
Most lessons come with a much steeper price.
She doesn't say any of that, though, just closes her eyes and kisses back, sliding her hand up his chest, pouring everything into it.]
I'm not gonna leave you today.
no subject
But this-- ]
Okay.
[ York presses closer for just a moment, not caring about the blood and everything else, and just breathes in and out. ]
Okay.
no subject
Hey.
[She leans up to drop a light kiss against his lips, then a deeper one.]
Hey, c'mere.
no subject
Yeah?
no subject
Don't worry, okay?
Look, I'm fine.
