It’s raining. It’s dark, and dreary, and raining, and absolutely perfect weather for tailing Terezi. At least, that’s what Karkat tells himself. He’s soaked to the core, shivering, and if this doesn’t somehow hide his scent from the blind troll, Karkat will flip off every metaphorical handle that’s ever been mentioned in the entirety of Homestuck. Then he will literally flip off all those handles. There will be so much handle-flipping occurring; the entire universe will collapse in on itself through sheer, helpless fury. That is how badly Karkat can’t afford to be caught right now.

He’s fogging up the window with short breaths, trying to peer through the raindrops to the room within. The red blob, douchebag radiating for miles and miles around him, is obviously Dave. The black blob, Terezi. They are far too close together for Karkat’s comfort.

He’s not entirely sure how to describe the emotions bubbling within him at the sight, in those rare moments he's honest with himself. It’s deeper than his all encompassing standard of rage. It hurts more than jealousy should. But it keeps him so silent that, if he strains his ears, he can hear her piercing cackle.
