the song drabble meme
It's pretty simple and fun, folks. This is how this works!
( 01 ) Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
( 02 ) Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
( 03 ) Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.
( 04 ) Write a drabble related to that song, using that/those character(s)!
Take as long as you need; there's no time limits here!
And here's some helpful HTML to make it pretty!

She doesn't know how else to take the news. Granted, she doesn't know Sagan-- Skyfire as well as she does Thane. She also definitely doesn't trust Skyfire nearly as much, but she's not going to disagree that something is going on that Krios isn't saying.
It didn't concern her terribly, because she figured that if it was important, he would tell them.
But there is that thing about Thane never sleeping in his bed, and that he's hard to spot more than half the time, but she pegged it up to his assassin training and paranoia that's understandable. The bed is dusty and unused, the floor much the same, so where the hell does Thane go?
"All right," Shepard says finally.
They go into Thane's room. Unsurprisingly, he's missing. Shepard frowns, briefly tempted to call him, but. No. They should try to find any clues first.
"Search the room," Shepard orders Sagan without pause. The white-haired man gives a soft noise of confirmation before exploring the room with her.
There aren't many personal belongings to observe. Thane has a perfect memory, so sentimental items don't particularly matter to him. The most are some of the guns he's left stashed across the table. Some are missing.
Skyfire is scouring the bed and the tables nearby, peering into the tea collection. It's a small assortment, and Shepard doesn't think they'll get anywhere with that.
Is there really nothing?
She stands and starts to head for the door, but pauses. One of the panels on the floor is looser than the others.
"Here," Shepard calls for Skyfire, pulling the panel off. She pauses, staring at the underside of the panel.
Several symbols are carved into it. She recognizes some of them, faintly, from when--
Shit.
"Do you have a light?" Shepard says, more as a demand than a request.
Skyfire nods once, holding out a flashlight. "Shepard, I had no idea about this."
"I know." It's not to comfort him, just an acknowledgement. No, she knows that Sagan had no knowledge about this.
She slides under the floor and just. Stares. The space is confining, but the way the floor has been settled here tells her that this is where Thane has been sleeping. There are symbols carved into the underside of the floor here, and other written words that she only assumes are Thane's native language. In plain English, there is twinkle twinkle little star, and a perfect shape of the Marker here.
Shepard scowls and takes some snapshots with her omnitool before climbing back out.
"Shepard--" Skyfire starts to say, tone cautious.
She sees why. There's a very angry drell in the doorway.
"Get out," Thane states lowly. "Both of you."
Never does Thane order her. He advises, he occasionally makes a sly remark, but he never orders Shepard.
"Now," Thane snarls, the frill on his neck trembling.
"Sagan," Shepard says with a nod to Skyfire.
They both exit. Thane just... stands in the door way, as if suddenly lost. Shepard smacks Skyfire in the arm to make sure he's still following.
"Shepard..." Skyfire frowns. "What did you find?"
"Nothing good." And something to confront about after she gets some damn answers.
