HE'S NOT REALLY SURE but he knows it's better to be friendly with her, not only because she's extremely dangerous but because he's known her since she was extremely young and naive. It's sometimes hard to keep that in mind, but he finds her an excellent challenge.

Also, she's amusing.

He is trying to be not racist against her. It's taking actual effort, but beating him up while he was a little kid...actually helped. She's obviously going to grow up to be pretty powerful, and he respects that.

Stilllll kind of hard to get over the innate space racism though.
