Jin hadn't even known that Sacrosanct had its own porn magazine.

Really, they'd only come here for coffee. Well, Skyfire had come for coffee; Jin had come for the off-brand Snickers bars, and mere curiosity had led him into the magazine racks.

They stood there, bright red, staring at "THE NAKED SACROSANCT - chicks and dudes, dicks and sploodge, and everything in between!!" (in comic sans) and Jin wondered, not for the first time, what the hell was wrong with this place. The cover was a kaleidoscope of tits.

"Why would..." Jin began.

"I don't know," Skyfire said weakly. "Would Hypatia--?"

"No, look, it's by someone named 'Camille.' Who's Camille?"

Skyfire could only shake his head.

"Do you think it's...anyone we know?"

"I don't know and I don't want to know."

"Oh stars, no, me neither. Let's--we should get rid of it."

"We--what?"

"What if children see this?"

Skyfire looked horrified at the mere thought.

"We'll just...just throw them out," Jin said, reaching a shaking hand toward the magazine. "Just..."

His hand twitched and he dropped the magazine to the floor. It fell open right to the centerfold. Morbid curiosity drew Jin's gaze straight to it, and Skyfire had to lean down to see properly.

They both went ashen at the exact same time.

Later, they both stood outside, watching the convenience store burn to the ground. Station drones were already trying to put out the fire, but if dragon blood is good for anything, it's burning stuff.

"We will never speak of this again," Jin said.

"Nope. Never."

"Never."

Skyfire + Altman

It wasn't hard to convince them to come back with him when the rift became stable. They really had nowhere else to go.

The Autobots could always use more engineers and Ratchet had been more than grateful to take them all under his wing. Altman had been apprehensive about his usefulness to them, though Skyfire had been sure to do his best to quash those doubts before they became something that ate at him. His organizational skills were more than sufficient to earn his keep, and many of the Autobots treat him like a personal car wash.

The shuttle often tells him that he's much too nice and he shouldn't let them trouble him for it, though he says he doesn't mind.

Today, he watches Alejandro leave with Hound, Isaac goes with Gears and Vandal with Tracks as usual.

Michael joins Skyfire in the lab and is deposited on the mech's shoulder. It's strange, a little, how inseparable they are. Mirage jokes that Skyfire has a human fetish and he wouldn't be too far from the truth, but nobody needs to know that now. There's no point to it. He's happy enough to have Altman as his human companion along with the engineers. Though they seem to have picked favorites as well.

They work in silence for a while and he's taught Altman how to run the scanners (he gets along with Perceptor, too), but when his commlink patches him through to Prime requesting air-support it's that drop-everything kind of moment.

"The Cons are cooking something up over in Florida," Skyfire explains as he heads out the side-door, "You coming?"

"This isn't my cup of tea," Altman responds, crossing his arms an looking up at the behemoth of a mech. He can remember when he used to feel small just standing next to him as a human. He would have never imagined.

"When in Rome..." Skyfire prompts him, and Altman gives in with a shrug. It never takes much convincing.

"Fine, but I don't want to be a liability."

"You're not a liability. You're moral support," Skyfire has become very quick to counter him.

Before Altman can argue he's being lifted and placed in the pilot's seat as Skyfire transforms to his vehicle mode and takes off.

"Eulogy" - Tool


How exactly do you handle a funeral for yourself?

More importantly, how do you handle the funeral of someone you’re not attached to when they’re attending?

Barricade had no clue (hah) what had compelled the program to ask him to give a eulogy over his… cubes. Ugh. Humans couldn’t even find a way to make their machines die in a useful way. How were you supposed to dismember a bunch of physical pixels for parts? At least he could strip Cybertronian bodies for everything they were worth to save a few lives later.

And why would Clu ask him to do it? After that EMP business, this was almost an insult. Ah, well. He’d do his best.

The dead were attending, after all.

The pixels had all fit snugly into a shoebox, which fit snugly into the hole that had been dug in one of the garden zones. And Barricade tried to think. He did.

All he came up with were song lyrics. Frag. Might as well. Just. Keep the unflattering parts to himself. True as they might be…

No one ever said he had to do it well.
