HEADCANON MEME

Alternatively, someone can ask you a specific question about the headcanon you have for a certain character. This gives you the option to answer questions pertaining to certain subjects, or think about a question you hadn't considered/answered with your headcanon yet.

There's no limit to the topics or the amount of times someone can ask about a character. It can be huge things like how their life was before their canon, or something smaller like their first time making sweet sweet... um, baked goods for the family. As long as you think it's something that is accurate to your character but it isn't in their canon.

- Before his breakdown he really enjoyed reading philosophy books, particularly Kant. He found it a lot easier to contemplate the really big questions of existence and morality rather than grapple with the day-to-day struggle that his illness brought on, even with medication.

- He used to be fond of sweets. Not in a ridiculous sweet tooth way, because Rattmann has never been about extremes like that, but more like if he had a particularly good week he'd reward himself with a nice pastry and his favorite book. GLaDOS tacked the cake onto the false promises as yet another dig at him.

- He considered quitting Aperture in protest over their continued work on GLaDOS but realized that there really weren't any other companies who would hire him given his history of mental illness, so if he wanted to continue living he'd have to stay on. He also considered calling in sick on the day GLaDOS went online, but went out of a morbid curiosity as to how it would play out.

Rattmann's actually lost a great deal of his ability to distinguish the passage of time like a normal person, so his weekends are basically the same as any other day for him.

He wakes up, looks around to check and make sure his hideaway hasn't been breached, and starts packing up because on Sacrosanct his paranoia is so bad he can't bear to stay in any place for more than one night at a time. After packing up he eyeballs the outside surroundings before hitting the road; depending on where he is he may or may not go through the vents or something similar. Relocation is really stressful for him, because he doesn't want to be seen or caught by anyone. He settles a little better after he sets up a new hideout.

After that it really depends on what his mental state is like on any given day. If he's feeling particularly lucid he'll trawl through the network and attempt conversation, maybe even (gasp) eat something. On bad days he spends the majority of his time curled in on himself and focusing mainly on breathing evenly and not screaming. Those are usually the days he goes out and murals every available surface he can find - he knows they'll make it easier for people to track him, but they really calm him down.

Once night hits he's back in his hideout and barricaded in for a sleep filled mostly with nightmares and more manifestations of his fear and guilt. He wakes up frequently during the course of a night.

Since Chell found it by all rights it's hers and Rattmann will respect that. However, he may hang around sometimes just to chat with it. He's felt even more isolated than usual without his conscience strapped to his back.

And some Nep headcanon:

- Nepeta has never had a recuperacoon, instead sleeping snuggled up next to Pounce for her whole life. Those horrible nightmares that all trolls have about their bloody and violent history? Exciting tales from the hunt! Some of them went up on the walls of her hive.

- She doesn't have it in her to blame people for mistakes they make. Nepeta is a very observant girl, and she's extremely skilled at seeing all the sides of a problem. This makes it hard for her to really mad at anyone who screws up, because she can see where they were coming from when they made their decision. Can she get upset about it? Absolutely. But she is pretty much the queen of giving second chances.

- She collects things that interest her and bring them back to the hive. Pretty shells, rocks, shiny crap, anything that catches her interest. She likes to press flowers and weave them together into cute crowns and necklaces for herself and her friends. Getting feathers from Davesprite was like hitting the jackpot, and they quickly became one hella sweet bracelet.
