So. Shaun's had time and reason to think over things. Which didn't make what he thinks of Buffy any simpler, but at least it doesn't choke him... too badly.

First and foremost, Buffy was a friend. She betrayed them, which is bad, but when she did, she had no idea how bad it would be. This, Shaun never doubts.

She betrayed his and George's trust. With one thing. Which snowballed way beyond reason, but that, she didn't mean, so he's learned to separate the shitstorm from Buffy herself, if only a little. So he doesn't pin the deaths on her - sure, what she did made them more targetted, but he is certain that the CDC and Tate would have found a way even if she hadn't gotten involved.

On the other hand, turning them in to strangers - who Buffy didn't even know the identity of - that hurts. Hurt a whole more earlier, but a lot of hurts went wholesale numb after George's death. Plus, she paid for her mistakes with her life, no less.

Plus, one mistake... everybody makes mistakes. Even with the best intentions to the best of their knowledge (see, shooting Georgia). It's not as though as nothing has happened, but he is giving her a fair chance. Because.
