I can't shake the idea of Nepeta hiring Harry to do some detective work that's occurring completely in one of her roleplay stories and...neglecting to mention that to him.

Which. Probably isn't the kind of detective plot you're going for but it could be kind of fun maybe, especially if other people get accidentally roped in during the investigation.
