IT'S TWO TICKETS TO THAT THING YOU LOVE!

HEADCANON MEME

1. Comment in the post listing your characters.
2. Other will reply with the name of one of your characters
3. You list three things that are your headcanon for that character.

Alternatively, someone can ask you a specific question about the headcanon you have for a certain character. This gives you the option to answer questions pertaining to certain subjects, or think about a question you hadn't considered/answered with your headcanon yet.

There's no limit to the topics or the amount of times someone can ask about a character. It can be huge things like how their life was before their canon, or something smaller like their first time making sweet sweet... um, baked goods for the family. As long as you think it's something that is accurate to your character but it isn't in their canon.

1) Terezi doesn't lie. She may enhance the truth or leave out details, but she doesn't flat out make stuff up to get her way. She's like Doc Scratch: she plays with her cards face up because she's good enough at manipulating people that she doesn't need to resort to outright deception.

2) She refuses to swim. Holding your breath = no smelling = TRUE BLINDNESS, and it's not like tasting the water is going to do her any good.

3) Not really my headcanon (I snagged it from someone on MSPAchan), but it just makes so much sense:

"That dovetails with my headcanon that Terezi tormented dream Karkat to try to wake him. And because she could. Just sort of drubbed him, posed him for use in her roleplays, dragged his comatose body around Prospit to all the stuff she was planning to show him, y'know, Terezi stuff.

And that's why he was out in the street when he finally did wake up."

It's too good to not be true!

Terezi is somehow coerced into going on a... blind date. Who would she be most horrified to see show up?

It would be either Equius or Vriska. Equius because I'm pretty sure he freaks pretty much everyone the fuck out in person, and Vriska because obviously the entire thing would deteriorate into nothing but snark and awful sight-related puns. :P

Seriously though, with some of these recent updates it's starting to look like Terezi dislikes her a lot more than she's letting on, if we can take Dave's words at face value. I think Vriska is one of the only people who really get under Terezi's skin, and so she'd probably just hate it if she was the blind date. Good gravy, I wouldn't be surprised if Vriska showed up in the fairy dress, just for the added horribleness factor.

I th-think I need to draw this now alkjdal;kl;k

I was surprised at how much Terezi DOES seem to be bothered by Vriska, on that note~ :O I'd always assumed Terezi was genuinely apathetic towards her. WHICH IS THE POINT, I GUESS. BLUH BLUH BEST MANIPULATOR.

I thought so too, but that one off-hand line suddenly put a lot of Terezi's actions in another light, such as the way she flipped out at Vriska in one of the memos ("SHUT TH3 FUCK UP!") or why she went along with the chumpy impressionable boy-off when she seemed to think the idea of the competition was stupid. I suddenly understand everything.

But not really, because this is Homestuck we're talking about.

alright you want a question here comes one
about when did you realize just how into me you were

Okay, scratch that, REAL QUESTION INBOUND: what does Terezi's voice sound like to you? I've seen lots of different ideas about this, and while I have my own concept for it I'd like to hear yours. :D

I'm... not sure how to explain it! She's got this very distinct voice in my head that I can hear when I read her lines, but ughhh I am not good at describing voices or sounds or music.

I think Terezi's got somewhat of a loud, higher-pitched kind of voice (but not screechy or anything). She's dramatic, but not dramaaaaaaaatic, if you know what I mean. There's a lot of theatricality in her courtblock LARP intro, and I think this transfers over to her everyday speech.
She also talks like her text reads
like she's trying to put emphasis on certain thoughts and so separates them from the others
her linebreaks are short pauses
which kind of break everything up
it's like she's constantly thinking of other things to add

...Does this even make any sense? :/

[identity profile] timeturntable.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
/nodnod/ It makes perfect sense to me! A good sense of projection/drama without the need for over-melodramatic theatrics. And yeah, the loud and higher pitched is something I've read in your posts, so glad to know that's carrying over properly. :>
