OH MY GOD YOU PLAYED MORROWIND???

[identity profile] karijou.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
morrowind probably still holds the distinction for my favorite RPG ever, and it's definitely my favorite WRPG. I put in so many hours of my middleschool/highschool life into that game, s-sob.

COMPLETED THE ARTIFACT MUSEUM.
EVERY BARROW THOROUGHLY PLUNDERED oh my god the one with the skeleton that appears behind you after you read your journal nearly made me shit myself
MASTER THIEF etc.

...also I never got past the ashlander section of the main quest

I just couldn't bring myself to give a shit about my destiny when I could be KILLING RATS FOR THE FIGHTER'S GUILD

or crossing the world and gathering a cliff racer entourage
every cliff racer
ever
five hundred of them

And that's not even including the books and the world they constructed, which I fell in love with so hard. Oblivion didn't hold the same charm for me - I beat the game, and then put it down and never looked back.

f-fuck I might try and find my CDs and play it some today ;_; since my xbox version is up in portland...

the libraries and bookstores are the best part

the best part

I love the world building, I love the history, I love the mindfuck religious texts (seriously, what was Michael Kirkbride even smoking when he wrote the 36 Lessons of Vivec?)

Before Oblivion came out, I was so jazzed by the prospect of finding new stuff to read. It was the worst day when I realized they just recycled a good chunk of the books from Morrowind. :(

Oh god the 36 Lessons of Vivec
Remember the one about the Kagouti in a pot of water
...
oh shit do you remember Poison Song
I don't even remember what happened other than that I found every copy and read the entire thing before putting it in my house's bookshelf

Also my house had a sign out front for "Ra'virr: Trader"
which is odd, when you think about it, since nobody by that name existed
unless you count the corpse in the Lock: 100 closet.

8D;
