The adorable weird pink thing in this icon is Vergil the Engineer. In the AU I use for Rookie, he whistles a short tune at Vergil in one scene to tell him everything's a-okay.
It's shamefully cute and on my profile.I would have gone with engineerwhistler but I didn't think it would fit (and also it looks silly), and the actual name for the Engineer species is Huragok. So!
