EVERYTHING TAKES YOU BACK
the song drabble meme
It's pretty simple and fun, folks. This is how this works!
( 01 ) Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
( 02 ) Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
( 03 ) Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.

- reference our previous meme if you're still confused

Deep down, he'd always known it was coming. To say he'd hoped would be untrue; he understood that most of the people on the station were utterly unprepared for the day Hypatia would try to kill them all, but Emile had always at least suspected. And they'd made the same mistakes Emile had seen in planet after planet destroyed by the Covenant - the only way to win, to really win, was to strike fast and hard where they least expected it, and that was damn near impossible in a place like this.
Of course, damn near impossible was what Spartans lived for.
He silently motioned Black-Two that the area was clear and she began to work at the terminal, Emile blasting bot after bot as they approached. The other remaining tech specialists were doing the same around the station, but he'd requested this assignment specifically. Black-One had only nodded tersely; Emile had a nasty feeling in his gut that if they didn't work quickly enough, she wouldn't get out of the chemical tank in time.
"Just one button left," Two said as she entered a bit of code. "Emile, you do it."
He cocked his head to the side, wondering why she didn't just do it herself, but then he shrugged and pressed it for her.
Half the station vaporized, but they were free now.
