Adventures in Solitude- The New Pornographers

The sun shone hot and bright. Jack watched with a smile as Eleanor tipped her head back, eyes closed, apparently at peace with the world. She looked healthier, happier. The two of them had bare feet dangling over the edge of the aquarium enclosure. Despite rolling his pant legs up, Jack's jeans had gone dark where little splashes had caught them. Eleanor's dress gave her no such problems.

The bag of breadcrumbs between them was mostly empty, devoured by colorful reef dwelling fish that didn't seem to mind the presence of their toes as long as they kept very still. The air smelled of saltwater, but lacked the rust and desperation that had so often marked Rapture. He ruffled Eleanor's hair, interrupting her little moment, then looked away innocently. There was a second of delay before she pushed at his arm in response.

He could get used to this.
