EVERYTHING TAKES YOU BACK
the song drabble meme
It's pretty simple and fun, folks. This is how this works!
( 01 ) Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
( 02 ) Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
( 03 ) Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.

"That's not how it works," he muttered, sparks flying over head as his torch burned through dark metal. He could tell she was hovering dangerously close to him. The last thing that either of them needed was for her hair to light on fire or something. He shoved her back with an impatient elbow.
"Hey now-" she protested. "Not everyone had to come into being a criminal the way you did." He could tell from the warmth on his back that she had already moved back into her previous position.
"But your way makes no goddamn sense," he muttered, mostly to himself now. The torch met the starting point of his incision and he pressed a gloved hand upward. Before he had fully pushed the metal out of the way, she was scrambling up his back.
"I'll be back with that safe in a second," she informed him, head poking out of the narrow opening.
Virgil wasn't sure if he should grin or scowl. "Don't get caught," he threatened. She just made a face before disappearing.
