EVERYTHING TAKES YOU BACK
the song drabble meme
It's pretty simple and fun, folks. This is how this works!
( 01 ) Have a playlist ready! Don't use all your songs--try and narrow it down a little.
( 02 ) Let everyone know how many songs you're working with. Also, which characters you would be willing to write about.
( 03 ) Others tag your post, picking a character or pairing or friendship or familial relationship or whatever, and then choose a number from your list.

1653 » [Flynn + Anon + Gibson ; "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" -- The Beatles]
"Oh, man, Sgt. Pepper's! I haven't seen this record in years. Where'd you even find it?" Flynn said fondly--if a bit distantly--before glancing quizzically up at the two programs in front of him.
The quickly-hidden guilty look on Gibson's face and Anon's quick shuffle suggested that Flynn wasn't likely to get a straight answer to that question, but Gibson was already trying to steer the conversation away from any potential thefts that may have occurred.
"So you know it?" he asked, seizing on the change of topic.
"Yeah. Yeah, you could say that," Flynn said, turning the over in his hand to look at the reverse. "Gotta warn you, though: I think I'm spoiling you for just about every other album every made."
"Wait, I thought it was a record." Gibson said skeptically.
"I'll explain after you listen."
Gibson opened his mouth to ask what Flynn meant by calling the record an album--because seriously, you can't just leave him hanging like that--but was cut off as Flynn put the needle on the record and sat back.
As it turned out, all you really needed to get Gibson to shut up for almost an hour straight was a record player. By the time they'd gotten to "With A Little Help From My Friends", Gibson had started to drum his fingers against the arm of the couch in time to the music and slumped down in the couch, looking both supremely comfortable and completely engrossed by the music. Anon, however, just leaned forward to get a better look at the record player, arms braced on his thighs and head tilted slightly--and neither program took their eyes off the record player for the entire duration of the album.
Flynn hastily removed the needle from the record at the end of the reprise of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", however; "A Day In The Life" was a good song, and the programs should probably hear it eventually… but the end probably sounded a little too much like Abraxas for their comfort, and the last thing Flynn needed was a panic on his hands.
"You like it?"
"Can we listen to it again?" Gibson asked, looking hopefully up at Flynn. He wasn't even bothering to hide his interest behind a pretense of cool-kid sarcasm, which was surprisingly gratifying. Anon was quiet for a few more seconds, staticking quietly to himself in thought, before he finally ventured a question.
"… who's Sgt. Pepper?"

no subject
... and yeah, the explanation of fiction should be interesting. "Wait, why are you talking about people that don't exist?"
