Because she seems to be a regular human and not a Spartan, he's actually way more inclined to show her proper military respect because people like her are familiar to him. SADLY he'll probably perform much better for her than for Carter. The general strangeness of her crew will outweigh the fifth wheel feeling he gets from the Spartans, because at least he knows he's not part of Shepard's military etc and is there only for his useful skills, and he's coming to the table with the only quality he takes pride in, his sharpshooting. Shepard doesn't know or care that he's considered spoiled because he's from Earth, or that he's gone through 238394 different squads because they all die and/or he can't get along with them. He gets a clean slate with her.
Also it bothers him more than he can articulate to suddenly be in the minority rather than the majority, and at least all the aliens aren't having stupid complicated inter-team sexual relations. You know aside from Shep and Garrus. That's still more conventional and acceptable to him.

And if she ever finds out they consider Earth kids spoiled she's just going to WTF-face at them for a very long time.
(Also we need to eventually do that whole he shoots at her and she lols about it thread thing. When you're not dying of busy.)
