Telepaths are not always the most useful in battle, particularly not against creatures without minds. But the waves kept coming, overwhelming the station, and eventually everyone had to fight.

They know they're afraid, both of them, because it's impossible not to know, to ask, every few moments, are you alright? are you alive?

They're separated, across miles of broken station and a hull breach, with the creatures closing in on their respective positions, but at least they're not alone.

It's ok. I'm here.
