Honestly? You scare the shit out of Dave, in a way he usually masks to himself as "god that's annoying does she even STOP with the freud bullshit," and that's primarily because he's well aware he's got his own issues. There's also that part where she goes for power, and he's honestly kind of worried she's going to tumble in over her head at some point (like with the whole glowing black thing). He tries not to let it show, but Rose, he thinks you need help.

He also considers her, if not family, at least something close - a close, close friend-cum-obligation. She provides an intellectual counterpoint to his forced idiocy, and that's something he enjoys on a certain level (that once again, he'd never admit to).
