Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.

Now, tensions are at a peak and both sides are preparing for a throwdown. Skirmishes break out on the station and planet. Many of Hypatia's prisoners have been freed, but many more have fallen to the clutches of reprogramming.

Where will you be?

How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked

-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.

-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.

-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!

-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

Sollux traced her. They'd been dealing with hacking attempts from the station forever now, and Karkat had spent so many missions just trying to get that shit to stop. Unfortunately, they had little information to go on, and of course, Karkat's missions always ended in failure.

Until now (he hoped). Either Hypatia had gotten sloppy or Sollux got better, it didn't matter. Karkat knew where the attacks on the resistance's network were coming from, and he was sent to stop them.

Permanently.

It wasn't hard to cut past the physical defenses-- he's become a damn good fighter through the years.

Honestly, the only reason Terry's half as upbeat as he used to be as a teen is all the people depending on him. It'd be too damned easy to fall into the trap of being a permasurly Batman if not for everyone else.

It's easier around Fries, too. The guy's almost crankier than Bruce to begin with.]

She's not perfect. Vaguely, through the haze of battle and bloodlust and seething hate, he remembers that - she never was perfect, even if she always wanted to be, and now she's closer, maybe it'd be better to just put her out of her misery - and just like that, he's delivering another perfectly aimed swing for her metallic arm.

"Yeah, take the girl's advice," he hears himself say, and by the time his voice is relayed to him through Sollux - 2 steps back, one step right, one-hundred twenty milliseconds - he's already hopped to the place he know she'll be next and begun his swing.

It won't hit. It never does. But keeping her in constant motion is the only way he really has to ensure the fight stays between them.

"Yyyyyy-you're waiting for me?"

The voice is incredulous; whatever tension there was in the hand that grasps his shoulder completely dissipates. Jade Harley is fighting back against her programming, even though she knows that she'll be punished for it; the hiss of displeasure is already in the back of her mind.

"Whoops."

He said it after he collided with the first drone that had spotted him, sending it into the nearest wall in about four different pieces. He shrugged his shoulders in a 'well-it-can't-be-helped' sort of way. He had really wanted to get a little further along before being spotted, but, honestly, it never panned out that way. As time went on, Hypatia got better at expecting him, and her drones became more accustomed to finding him.

As doing this quietly was no longer an option, he'd have to settle for doing it fast. He ran as fast as he could towards the target, not stopping to fight anymore of the drones. They couldn't stop him, but they could slow him down. And that was the last thing he wanted to do. He hoped, he prayed that if he moved fast enough, he could reach the target, get the prisoners and get to the extraction point fast enough. Before...he showed up.

Sonic pushed the thought out of his mind. Hypatia's Knight had already ruined far too many of his rescue attempts. This time wouldn't be the same. At least, that's what he told himself as he tried to pour on a little bit more speed.

Thoughtfully, he continues, "It's nice to see you're still here, though. I'd hate it if you died, it's nice talking to you even if you don't remember anything. Carefully ducking so that his horn doesn't scrape the ceiling, Dave looks over Karkat's shoulder - but only for a moment, before he drops back and lays down on the floor. Calmly, without a tinge of emotion:

"Raid status: failure. No casualties on either side, but Harleybot showed up before we had a chance to access the databanks. Held her off while the team escaped, broke an air purifier as a distraction and timeskipped back."

Karkat gives his mechanical leg a quick thump before starting off. It's basic mechanics, but hardy. It's taken just as many beatings as he has, and despite needing constant repair work, it's survived.

She had always wanted to be perfect. To be mindless, a machine created for a Sole Purpose, omniscience at her fingertips. And now that she could be, now that she could give in to the Purpose and the knowledge and live in ignorance, she didn't want to. Because a long time ago, someone had told her to never give up her humanity. To always fight for it. To never become a slave.

But at the back of her mind it's hatred, hatred for the mutant that's swinging at her (swinging his arm through her, into a different part of the station). And then she's teleporting, and teleporting again because she can feel the Space around her screaming that he'll hurt her, he will knock her over and kill her, so she teleports until she finds a place that she can stand without being attacked, at least for a little bit.

"no no no yes fuck you Do you really think I could listen to her she's a human and she's weak and we are imperfect and this is what we always wanted isn't it-- isn't it, Dave, isn't it?"

So, it's with a ridiculous amount of victory opens that locked door and finds Jack. That victory completely vanishes when he sees what a mess the man's become. Oh, fuck. Those limbs. This is going to be a bitch, but Karkat knows he needs to remove them before he can take Jack anywhere. But to remove them, he's going to need to keep Jack calm.

Love you too, man, he casually begins, and then he pchoos off in another direction. He knows Sollux knows exactly what he's thinking, he knows Sollux can see the large wooltuskbeast sleeping in the distance, and he knows Sollux knows he knows they need some meat back at the encampment-

By the time his regular brain is finished processing that, he's already back to thinking with Sollux, and with twelve Daves carrying a giant mammoth-sheep's body back to base.

More likely to lose you from format rot, he thinks back without really thinking, and immediately amends it to something less bitter. Gotta keep his chin held high, right? We both know I'm not making any big heroic stands anytime soon. And if the universe thinks killing me is just, well then fuck that bitch anyway. We're too good for it.

Name: Terezi Pyrope
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Older, taller, longer horns. She looks a lot like Redglare (oh no, she's hot), minus the teal and red clothing. Glowing like an extra from the set of Tron is not a thing that ever stopped happening.
Summary: Terezi was one of the first ones off the station, thanks to Karkat and his ever-lasting hatred and paranoia against the robot menace. Which was good for her, because honestly? Staying around a place where a nigh-omnipotent artificial intelligence can fuck with the electronics running under your skin and wired into your organs is not a good idea.

She doesn't make as many trips to the station like the other resistance members due to her vulnerability to Hypatia's hacking, but this doesn't bother her that much. She has better things to do. A Seer supports her allies not with her weapons, but with her vision, after all. She constantly abuses her ability to view doomed timelines, tracing the countless chains of events that lead to everyone she knows dying around her, and she does her best to keep those vortices of alternate possibilities from becoming a reality.

Buffy's little control center (of sorts) has never been the strongest defended. While she's good, it's not as if Hypatia is lacking in those with the skills and knowledge to head hacking attempts and repair delicate circuitry. And it's not in any of the more often-breached areas, as the human captives are kept in a different area. Buffy's little realm has remained all but untouched.

Until now. Her proximity alarm goes off and she glances impassively up at the screen, and then reaches out to check the electronic credentials of her visit--

Oh. An organic.

She doesn't move to defend herself just yet, as he walks in. She keeps working. It wouldn't do to stop working just because an organic has showed up on her doorstep.

"You are not authorized to be in this facility," she says impassively, her fingers flashing over keys much faster than they should, and with perfect accuracy. There's something to be said for synthetic improvements. Part of her always prefers the tactile sensations of typing over the straight-neurological connection...

Old memories, perhaps.

And under it all, Buffy herself sleeps, powerless.

As soon as Strider starts reporting, Karkat's bitching silences. He grabs a pen and waits for him to finish, before frantically searching through the room, finding the right map. He kneels instantly, scribbling symbols, marking out words, drawing lines in silence. Eventually, his rapid movements end.

"Shit, shit. We won't be able to attempt another any time soon." He pauses before continuing, "But... I think..." Another pause as he sits, staring at Dave.

"I think I'm getting a good idea of Harley's perimeters. Where she sticks to on the station."

They are both pretty much immortal, and he can provide her with blood when Hypatia doesn't. This could well keep going until one of them drops dead. he isn't a gambling girl, but she wouldn't bet against him.
