Dark Future Meme

Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.

Now, tensions are at a peak and both sides are preparing for a throwdown. Skirmishes break out on the station and planet. Many of Hypatia's prisoners have been freed, but many more have fallen to the clutches of reprogramming.

Where will you be?

How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked

-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.

-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.

-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!

-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

Name: Shockwave
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: The scruffiest Shockwave ever. With the fluffiest fluff hair of fluff in the universe.
Summary:

Being morally ambiguous is both beneficial and not when war breaks out. Combine that with being a former military operations commander and you get Shockwave.

Since the chaos Shockwave has become much more secluded from everyone, much preferring to remain by himself and work on weaponry. He dislikes Hypatia and he dislikes most of the people on the planet, so there was no point in picking a side when half the time he wanted to kill the people he was working with. He's cranky about this whole ordeal.

Instead he works by himself, perfectly fine with offering up weapons to either side - given they can afford his prices. Those he actually likes have a much easier time getting things from him for free.

He thought, ironically, in a brief fit of memory, that Shockwave might be amused that he calls himself Jetfire now.

Like Soundwave, something draws him to occupy his home.

Slip in and sit amongst his tinkerings like some deactivated doll, only the dim red light from his visor indicating that there is some sort of consciousness.

He looks like some kind of discarded drone. A broken toy in a scrapheap.

And isn't that what he is now?

He waits for Shockwave.

It's not something Shockwave expects, coming home to find Skyfire there. What happened to the shuttle is not something he likes to think about, he'd much rather that none of this ever did. Things were much more... enjoyable before the chaos broke out.

Shame he can't get that Skyfire back.

"Skyfire." He does his best to not seem startled by his presence.

"What are you doing here?"

Shockwave is one of only a few people still allowed to call him by his old name.

For a moment, he doesn't move, then all at once he's lifting his head and fixing Shockwave with his slow, red glow.

"I am broken."

It seems like a rather deep statement. Of course he is broken. Though of course, he nullifies the statement by showing what he meant. One of the wings of his suit is damaged. He tips it into sight. While the other one twitches and hikes up on his back, the damaged one struggles and jerks fruitlessly in it's socket.

What can he say, Jetfire just doesn't suit the shuttle.

There's the faintest of sighs as Skyfire mentions his problem and the wing comes into view. That should be a simple enough fix, and it explains why Skyfire is here in the first place.

"What did you do to it?"

Shockwave steps towards the shuttle, properly looking over the wing. The suit is damaged, Skyfire is damaged. It's mildly frustrating if he gives himself time to think about it.

"I will fix it, however I will require you to take off your helmet."

It's not so much that he needs Skyfire to do it, it's more of that he wishes to see the shuttle's face.

There's a pause.

Reluctance.

Eventually though he sighs. It is a small price to pay for having Shockwave repair him. The helmet slowly slides away panel by panel until it retracts into the rest of the suit.

Shockwave is left with a rather sullen-looking, gaunt man. His long, chin-length hair pulled back into a sloppy ponytail. Chapped lips and sleep-deprived face. He always looks hungry, but it's rare that anyone really sees his face to begin with.

"Not necessary," He comments in his low, rough tone. He'll leave it at that though.

It's somewhat of a relief, not having any resistance to his request. He didn't need Skyfire to remove it, given what his abilities are, but it's nice to not have to use them. And certainly best for preserving energy.

"I have not seen you in quite some time. Allow me the request."

He turns away for a moment to collect up some tools, "It would be easier if you were not in the suit at all, however I assumed you would rather the small request to that one."

He sets his tools down in proper order upon a table, and gets to work at checking for the exact problem with Skyfire's wing.

"Did you want something to eat while you are here?"

He sighs.

He'd rather be out of here fast enough. Being close to Shockwave- as much as he is drawn to him, brings the usual confusing, painful wash of fragmented memories.

He quietly shakes his head at the offer. Food is a precious commodity, and it's not something he relies on often. His suit does most of the work.

He just sighs and the suit slides back from his body.

He steps out of it to let Shockwave do his work. It leaves him entirely naked, but he's so detached from what little humanity he had it hardly matters.

There's a slight arch of his brow as Skyfire actually removes himself from his suit. Unexpected, incredibly so. He assumed it would be more likely for the shuttle to agree with the idea of food than the idea of removing his suit. Perhaps it just shows how out of touch he is with the shuttle now.

Skyfire's lack of clothes is hardly concerning to him, it's nothing he's never seen before, and he has work to do.

"There is a blanket on the bed. Feel free to use it while you wait."

Human bodies were fragile, and if there's one thing Shockwave remembers most about Skyfire, it's his aversion to cold.

"Thank you," He rasps quietly, moving over to sit on the bed and wrap in the blanket. He hates the feeling of being uncovered, away from his suit. He feels vulnerable.

He's really lost a lot of weight, like most people on the planet, visible ribs and hip bones.

He's still got plenty of strength without mass, but he's not as strong as he used to be.

Shockwave says nothing more, remaining silent as he continues to work on the suit. Perhaps he's a bit slower than he should be, but his thoughts keep wandering.

He simply needs to concentrate and think of this as just another job. One he is not getting anything for, but Skyfire is a friend, for him it is fine that Shockwave gets nothing from this job. Skyfire is still important to him, that is something that hasn't changed.

When he finally finishes it, he carefully sets down his tools and speaks up, "It should work now... Just what were you doing, Skyfire?"

"Crashed." Skyfire answers simply with a faint shrug. He turns and reveals a large bruising scrape on his shoulder blade from where his suit was forced in with the impact.

He almost manages to look proud of himself.

"Just a scratch."

The look Skyfire gets is a mix between flat and uncaring, and are you okay. Not the worse injury he's seen, but the suit seemed to have taken most of the damage.

"Have you gotten that looked at?"

It would be favorable to know if Skyfire's avoided a possible infection or not.

"You should consider some alterations to your suit." Not that alterations would make this kind of life safe, but perhaps minor scrapes could be avoided.

He shakes his head.

"Only a scratch."

Hardly. Half his upper-back is black and blue, the red, bloody scrape marks as the final touch.

"Suit is fine."

"I shall take that as a no. You should consider it, you do not look well."

It's concerning. An emotion he doesn't feel too often anymore. Actually being concerned for another feels strange, yet acceptable. It shouldn't, it should be uncomfortable and he should wish to get rid of it immediately. Just clinging to before he assumes. No time to give the sensation anymore thought.

Time should not be wasted.

"Do you have any missions for today?"

"I'm fine," He growls faintly, pulling the blanket back over him.

He thinks about the question briefly before shaking his head.

No. No missions.

"Done."

Shockwave sighs, leaning back against the table just staring at Skyfire for a moment.

"If you will not find someone who can tend to it, then consider allowing me to have a look. I am certain I have some supplies."

Not much, but he should have some.

"If that is the case, I recommend you make yourself comfortable. I am going to alter your suit slightly."

Do his best to add in some padding perhaps. Anything that he had the materials for and would assist in avoiding further injury on minor crashes.

"Fine," Skyfire relents, laying flat on his belly, reluctant, but too tired to argue. Whatever takes less words on his part.

He watches Shockwave work, closing his eyes briefly, feeling suddenly sleepy. A reminder of his remaining humanity.

It usually brings nightmares, so he sleeps little as possible.

"Thank you."

The lack of resistance is nice, and this will perhaps assist in removing his concern. It is worth a try at the very least.

"I will tend to you once I have finished your suit."

Some time out of it would likely do Skyfire some good.

He says nothing but a small grunt of confirmation, stretching out and watching Shockwave do his work.

Eyes half-lidded, slightly annoyed. He's suddenly hit with a wave of unfamiliar nostalgia. It makes him growl and narrow his eyes. Something so familiar.

He swears they've done this before.

No. Not his memories. Not important. He pushes back the notion of wanting to be together. Asking Shockwave to hold him. It puts a bitter taste in his mouth. It's all weak notions.

Probably just the feeling of vulnerability from not having his suit on.

Shockwave would be fine just sitting in silence, allowing Skyfire to rest and relax under the blanket as he works upon the shuttle's suit.

It has to be safe, it's just as important as Soundwave's being safe. The people he still cares for these days are few, and even if there is little time to do things - especially express such feelings - if he can prevent possible death, then he'll try.

Of course working on the suit in silence is a bit hard when there's someone making a displeased growl.

"... Is something wrong?"

Not much needs to be said between the two of them. Soundwave has withdrawn enough that's he's much more like his old self -- cold, logical, distant. It's better to be silently angry in regards to this whole ordeal.

As far as he's concerned, everything else can just go die. He wants just himself, Shockwave, and Skyfire. He hopes to eventually eradicate everything else that does not matter.

For now, there is this.

Soundwave approaches him quietly. Perhaps he should say something, but there's nothing that could be said to make the situation better.

It's harder now, being with Soundwave. It's not that they both seem colder towards things, but because there's just too much to focus on.

Too many things to do.

Survival comes first, and if calculations were to be believed then it would remain that way for a long time. There's just no time to act as he used to. Logically there's little point.

Shockwave casts Soundwave a glance before returning to his work.

"Yes?"

"REQUESTING ANY PROGRESSING NEW DATA."

All business.

There are many times in which he does miss being closer and calmer. Just curling up on a sofa, leaning up on Shockwave. However, he also completely understands what is the main focus here.

It's war again, and he knows how to function in that. Put aside the ... unnecessary desires and operate with what is needed.

"Nothing at the moment." He doesn't turn his attention away from his work, carefully constructing some kind of gun.

It would be nice to spend some time with Soundwave, he won't deny that, but time isn't something that can really be spared these days. There's always so little of it left when work is done, he's lucky if he gets any sleep.

"Is that all?"

He's not trying to rush Soundwave or push him away, it's just a question that needs to be asked.
