Miranda only finds Ashley tolerable in a professional capacity. She admires her strength and loyalty to her own convictions, as well as the even rarer skill of calling bullshit on some of Shepard's moves. But goddamn does Miranda not like Ashley. Miranda's biggest hang up is that she's the only(?) person on this station who comes from a universe where Ashley survived and still can't get a civil conversation from her. Miranda's a person who anticipates how people will react; Ashley being distrustful or antagonistic was expected but it infuriates her to no end that one other person she can relate to is fucking Ashley. It doesn't help that they're both just as loyal to Shepard and Miranda tries not to feel threatened by it.

There is really no love between them at ALL but being on Normandy crew it still means she would take a bullet for Ash any day.
