Destiny 3/3

[recompiling]

He snatched his disc off of his back, holding it in guard position and pushing energy through it quickly. The shockwave shot the virus onto his back and the Monitor hit the ground, legs collapsing under him. He didn’t need the air, but he panted for a millicycle before getting to his feet and scrambling up the side of the building. The virus got to his feet, and they regarded each other – unmasked – for a few moments. I’ll be seeing you again.

And they did. Ambushing each other in alleys, in the dark, in garden districts. Tousling with their discs until they fell on each other properly, touches to the right spots decompiling bits of their clothing and armor – the cloak, a breastplate, a boot. The virus doing things to him that he didn’t know Programs could even do as circuitry was exposed. Things that made him moan and cry out and the name always on his lips was “Abraxas!” snarled in rage or lust and he wasn’t sure of the difference. And always the hurting, the liquid pain that shot through his circuits as he was pulled back onto the larger Program. Flashes of something harsh and intense that he’d only had a taste of before, that had made the siphons in his feet and hands ache for five hundred cycles.

He’d never admit it, but the virus was handsome, under that helmet. Under all those clothes. Slamming into him so hard that he damaged coding like they’d fought the way they used to. He’d never much cared for his own face, though the virus seemed amused that he was able to destroy something of the User’s and something of the head System Monitor’s. That was all this was, wasn’t it. Them finding a new way to destroy each other. The virus spreading his infection while the Monitor rode him, disc humming deadly against his throat and both of them enjoying it more than they had any right to. Neither of them would ever suggest that they needed this. That he enjoyed the pain like the virus had promised he would. That the virus would let the little glitch have this kind of power over him.

It was just destiny.

(So many sads in the Tron-cast. Tronzler, Gibson+Anon, what happened to Abraxas... Of all the places in the Grid for pseudo-British people to be, they'd be most likely to pop up in Arjia. Trufax.)
