Good job Mouse. You managed to choose the Japanese techo-dance remix of the Can-Can.

The tree was on fire. It was on fire because Pyro had tried to teach her how to use a flamethrower and it didn't work out. And then she'd cut it down to save the rest of the forest and now they were running, her carrying the end and him carrying the part closest for the foliage. The leaves were burning too fast, almost catching up.

And then it went over a hill and they were on it running backwards to keep from falling flay on their faces and being crushed under a rolling tree on fire. Somewhere between the bottom of the hill and the river, Pyro flails a little and almost falls off. He laughs and before they hit the water, she thinks 'Ridiculous.'

Then they're in the water, sputtering and clinging to the tree but at least it isn't on fire anymore. Pyro is flailing, panicking and Kanaya has to drag him up so he's straddling the log. He's laughing nervously, trying to calm himself, "I can't wait to write this down in my book."

"Book?"

"Yeah. It's full of really cool deaths."

"Death is no laughing matter," she says in a slightly frantic tone, almost understated for their situation.

"Nah. It's cool alright! It's not like it's permanent." And then they go over the falls and she thinks to herself, 'crazy'.

It turns out to be shorter drop than they expected and the water is shallow at the bottom, thankfully. She helps him dog paddle to shore and they flop down on the ground, thankful it exists. Kanaya decides that this outing, as far is sheer impossibility, silliness and insanity goes, is a success.

"Though I could stand a little less water."

Pyro can't hear her. He's too busy kissing dirt and thanking God it exists.
