This is all Amanda's fault :I

There is entirely too much trauma on this space station lately. Which means it's time for the

Broken Elevator Meme!

...Yeah.
  • Your character is riding on an elevator when - oh no - it breaks down and stops! How unexpected.
  • Oh look, someone else is in there with them. How about that.
  • That elevator isn't going to move until your thread amasses at least ten comments. MAYBE MORE.
  • Commence arguing/going stir-crazy/making out to relieve the tension/all of the above.
  • Agree to never speak of this again (and just use the stairs in future).

To achieve the correct atmosphere for this meme, I highly recommend these tracks. HAVE FUN~ :B

[Lifts on the Grid didn't break down, period. Unless the plot says they did, of course.

Gibson draws his baton and attempts to wedge it into the crack between the doors. Might as well do it the easy way--well, with the judicious application of physics.]

Did I just get a joke out of you? I'm impressed. [Hey, looks like this has actually accomplished something.]

[Anon tilts his head in a grin. Why yes, yes Gibson did get a joke out of him. Maybe being stuck in elevators isn't completely horrible after all.

But with that, Anon jumps and climbs up onto the roo- ew, dirty. This is definitely not Grid lifts. He picks his way over to the cable and pulley system. How do I fix?]

[No, being stuck in elevators still sucks. But hey, if it gets Anon to discover his sense of humor...]

Anything up there?

[Gibson would look up at the opening to the roof, but he's kind of trying to open the door... and failing spectacularly.

Hypatia, why are you conspiring against Gibson and Anon? :|]

[Hypatia, why do you not like the wee programs? They're people too. :(

Anon, after peering at the mechanics, not understanding them, and not knowing how to fix them, pokes his head back in.]

Dirt.

[He disappears again for a moment before dropping back in. Hello Gibson!]

... need assistance?

[identity profile] theshirtlessiso.livejournal.com 2011-03-23 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Hypatia must be a Shipper On Deck. It's the only logical explanation.

o hai, ninja biffle. You have a rather alarming tendency to appear behind Gibson when he doesn't quite expect you to be there.]

I'll trade you. [He might be able to get something from the elevator; he is an engineer, after all, even if mechanics aren't exactly his area of expertise.]

[Clearly. She must be in league with the Trolls.

Well. That's why he's a ninja. And also why he's awesome to have around when you annoy people so often.]

Okay. [Gibson is an engineer. And Anon is stronger than him. Logic wins out.]

Don't break anything.

[And with that, Gibson hauls himself up onto the roof of the elevator; he's less graceful than Anon, certainly. but he's more than capable of leveraging himself up without any trouble. After giving the elevator's operating mechanisms a quick once-over--and the dirt, too, just a little bit; how did it get everywhere in the User world?--Gibson pokes his head back through the door for a second.]

Man, no wonder it's broken. Did you know these things ran on a pulley system before this? [Although he still sounds exasperated with this entire ordeal, he's almost amused now. The User elevators are so quaint~!]

[Anon sets to work trying to pry the door open, using his disc to try to get enough space to wedge his fingers in the seams. Stupid elevators. Though he does look back when Gibson pops his head back in, shaking his own.]

Didn't, no.

[He hasn't gotten to elevators in the library yet. But it does seem adorably primitive, doesn't it? He cocks his head slightly; well, can you fix it?]
