Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.
Now, tensions are at a peak and both sides are preparing for a throwdown. Skirmishes break out on the station and planet. Many of Hypatia's prisoners have been freed, but many more have fallen to the clutches of reprogramming.
Where will you be?
How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked
-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.
-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.
-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!
-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

She can't count the number of times she's been through this. Watching their escapes, only to have the hope viciously yanked from her. Maybe Hypatia will gun him down this time. Maybe she'll capture him. Maybe she'll torture him. Maybe she'll simply blow him up. She's only done that one twice, Terezi thinks. If he is meant to succeed... It doesn't matter. She'll be rip away from this reality so fast that her head will spin. She expects it, honestly. Any second, and she'll be somewhere new. Any second, now.
Throughout the escape, Terezi doesn't say a word. She lies complacently in Karkat's arms, aware but distant. Like this is something happening to anyone else but her. When he sets her on the ground, she can smell the heavy dampness of the soil. Her fingers twitch against it, feeling the dirt and foliage beneath her.
Any second... Any second... But the seconds keep ticking by. Nothing changes. Hasn't it been long enough? Her visions don't usually make it this far. A sliver of hope winds its way through her mind, and for a moment... For a moment, she's terrified to believe in it. There's safety in her visions. They aren't absolute truth, just possibilities. It doesn't matter how many times she watches him die, as long as he keeps appearing, it means that he's still out there. He's still okay.
If this isn't a vision, there's nothing to fall back on. There's no consolation. There are no second chances. And Terezi knows... She can't really watch him die. Not because of her. It would destroy her completely.
"Is this... real?" Her hoarse whisper is just barely audible, the first words she's spoken in well over a year. "A-are you...?"

"Damn right, this is real." Fuck, he promised himself he wasn't going to cry. He had sat there and promised, because he knew he'd want to when he saw her again. But he needed to be strong for her and for himself and not look like a massive wiggler. Unfortunately, some people never get over being ridiculously emotional. Karkat is no exception. He wipes the snot and tears dribbling down his face before taking one of her hands in both of his own.
"I-I'm here," is about as much as he can get out coherently before a sob slips through his defenses. It's quickly followed by another, and another, and another, and Karkat's entire body is shaking with how much he fucking missed her.

No, that's a lie. She wants to kiss him. She wants to hold him. She wants to be able to grab onto him and never let go, but she can't. She can't even lift her hand to wipe the tears out of his eyes, and that is breaking her heart even more than the tears themselves.
"Karkat," she whispers, tears welling up again in her own eyes. "Karkat... Karkat..." God, she loves saying his name. It's light and sweet on her tongue, like cherry syrup. She missed that name. She missed him.
"Karkat, I wan-.. I want to hold you. I can't..." She tries to squeeze his hand, but she doubts he can even feel it. She's too weak to do anything. Even talking is hard, but she keeps going anyway, thoughts becoming more and more disjointed as she goes. There's so much she wants to say and the words won't come fast or clear enough, even less so when her throat begins tightening on the words, threatening to choke them off with a sob.
"I just.. want to feel you. How long has it been? I'm sorry-- So sorry... I don't know when...it is anymore. When I am. I just-- I shouldn't have..." She pauses, trying to catch her breath, her voice cracking a little from the sudden use. "Do you still love me? W-were you mad?"

He's still crying, but it's silent now, and if it weren't for the red drips landing on Terezi, it'd be impossible to tell. There are so many words flittering through his mind at too many miles per hour, and not a single one of them can properly convey what having her in his arms again means. So Karkat remains silent for a few more moments, affirming to himself what he had just assured her of: Yes, this was real.
"I looked for you," he starts, taking one shaky breath after another. "I look for you every fucking day and every goddamn night. For so long. I just kept looking, because I knew if you... If you were gone--" Karkat can't even finish the sentence. He just holds her a little tighter, just to reassure himself again that she's here. Even then, all he can do is sob into her shoulder.

Her fingers curl against his arms, her nails catching on his sleeve as she tries her best to hold him back. It's enough for now, just to be in his arms like this. She manages to turn her head slightly, just enough to touch her lips to the top of his ear. Enough to kiss him.
"I knew you were... I knew-- it didn't seem like... Seem possible. But I knew." She inhales a deep but shaky breath, letting his scent wash over her. It's comforting. Relaxing. Soothing. She just wants to bury her face in it. "I saw... A lot of things. And you... I missed you...so much."

"I fucking missed you-- god, I missed you. I missed your voice and your face and your crazy grin a-and did you seriously ask if I still loved you?" It's less difficult for him than it is for her to tilt his head, and in an instant, he's showering her neck with little kisses and tears.
"Of fucking course I still love you, y-you... you idiot. I'll always love you-- I didn't pine after you for sweeps just to suddenly stop when something bad happens. Sometimes you can be so fucking stupid!" Karkat can't help but laugh between muffled whimpers and sobs.
