Ten years later, humanity and the synthetic life on the station are at odds
Hypatia has inducted as many citizens of Sacrosanct into a private military and launched
an all-out war against organic life and the people of Asphodel.
Some were kept on the station as captives, some escaped down planet-side
to become part of the resistance, and countless others were re-purposed into
Hypatia's willing slaves.

Now, tensions are at a peak and both sides are preparing for a throwdown. Skirmishes break out on the station and planet. Many of Hypatia's prisoners have been freed, but many more have fallen to the clutches of reprogramming.

Where will you be?

How this works:
-If you are synthetic or part-synthetic, OR if you have special armor (Looking at you, Spartans, Troncast, EVERY ROBOT EVER) you are a target for re-purpose.
You can still have escaped down to the planet, but she'll be after you. Going to the station is dangerous, once you enter her wide-area-network you are at risk of being hacked

-If you are fully organic, you are either dead, kept prisoner and made to work on the station, or part of the resistance on Asphodel.

-Anything in-between? You decide. Be creative with this.

-Fill out the form below to give us an idea of what your character is up to, what happened to them etc. Thread with each other! RP it out!

-Also, bring in your extra journals! There won't be the same people on the station ten years from now! If you're planning to app someone, or just have something interesting lying around, toss them in!

Name: Dave Strider.
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Stands at about 6'7", with a human level of thickness that would make sense for someone at about 5'10". Ends up looking lanky and stretched because of it. Mottled grey skin with lighter blotches all over his body. Black hair, with a few patchy spots that come out blonde. Thanks to mutant issues, his irises spilled over, leading to completely red eyes.

His horn is a thing of terror, coming out at about a meter / three feet and some long, and has two or three notches along it where he's slipped up in battle. Still wears his god-tier ensemble, usually with the hood up. When he speaks, his fangs (having grown a good half an inch past the rest of his teeth) cause a noticeable lisp.

Summary: When Sollux fled Sacrosanct, Dave went with him. Since then, he's led constant raids (sometimes solo) wherever he can - as the Knight of Time and local deity, he is essentially immortal, after all. Despite ten years having passed, he's one of the ones who's kept their hopes up: he honestly believes he can get Jade and the others out from Sacrosanct, and has no plans to sit down and stop until he's done so.

He's not really much for tactics - he is a fighter, pure and simple. He leaves strategizing and discussing to Karkat and the others - however, he takes place in every skirmish. Every. Last. One. The cuts on his horn are from one Miss Harley, after all.

There is a small neural link in his brain connecting him to Sollux's mainframe. Dave has told exactly nobody about this; every time he goes onto Sacrosanct, Sollux actively stays with him, countering any attempts at hacking the small access point.

She's there behind him, unmoving.

They fight a lot -- and everywhere, something that part of her looks forward to. The thrill of battle, you can't catch me! and the ringing of steel against steel, snarls and gashes and biting and blood, everywhere. Though she doesn't think she can bleed any more, not really; whatever spills out isn't hers to claim, it's Hypatia's.

Today the order is simple: assassinate. Leave no survivors. But there's still part of her that's upset don't hurt dave! and there are flashes of simpler times, curling up on the couch and playing video games, sleepovers in the middle of the hallway, swimming together.

So she just stands there.
"You need a haircut Dave, do you want me to give you on-- o-one? O-or do you want me to take your eyes out instead?"

She makes no move.

The prickling feeling in his skin, his fins flattening against his neck, the various parts of his body that shouldn't be there pumping bile and hate and adrenaline - those are his first warning, without fail. His second warning is the sharp crackle of static in the back of his mind, Sollux's voice conveying information faster than any voice or language could possibly convey, and so by the time Jade speaks he's already completely ready for what's going to happen.

"I'm fine with the one you gave me last time," he says far more coolly than he feels he really can, and before he's even finished that sentence he is back, swinging from behind her in a blow he know will miss. He just watched it, after all.

Time slows to an absolute crawl. He can see every tiny movement he makes, every flicker of electricity bridging through Jade. He can see the air being cut through, rushing to fill its own gap.

He will not let anyone die. Not him, not his friends, not the resistance, and least of all Jade.

She can sense the attack as soon as he moves a muscle, eyes reading the space between them, mind jumping to the perfect time to teleport away. But she doesn't go far; a few feet away, still staring at him, making no move to attack him, herself. He will fight and he will miss, as always. It's practically a game now, this game of Space and Time.

( somewhere in the back of her mind she remembers a time when Space and Time worked together in harmony, a long time ago )
and then she blocks out the memory and focuses on
kill him kill him kill him kill him

"I-iiiiiiiit's useless, Dave are you really going to do this again?"

( space and time space and time you could run away with him he would take you home
home
home home home home )

And then she yells at herself, for no reason that Dave would understand unless he's hacked into the system, seen her blueprints. Her messy imperfections.

"Shut the fuck up!"

She's not perfect. Vaguely, through the haze of battle and bloodlust and seething hate, he remembers that - she never was perfect, even if she always wanted to be, and now she's closer, maybe it'd be better to just put her out of her misery - and just like that, he's delivering another perfectly aimed swing for her metallic arm.

"Yeah, take the girl's advice," he hears himself say, and by the time his voice is relayed to him through Sollux - 2 steps back, one step right, one-hundred twenty milliseconds - he's already hopped to the place he know she'll be next and begun his swing.

It won't hit. It never does. But keeping her in constant motion is the only way he really has to ensure the fight stays between them.

She had always wanted to be perfect. To be mindless, a machine created for a Sole Purpose, omniscience at her fingertips. And now that she could be, now that she could give in to the Purpose and the knowledge and live in ignorance, she didn't want to. Because a long time ago, someone had told her to never give up her humanity. To always fight for it. To never become a slave.

But at the back of her mind it's hatred, hatred for the mutant that's swinging at her (swinging his arm through her, into a different part of the station). And then she's teleporting, and teleporting again because she can feel the Space around her screaming that he'll hurt her, he will knock her over and kill her, so she teleports until she finds a place that she can stand without being attacked, at least for a little bit.

"no no no yes fuck you Do you really think I could listen to her she's a human and she's weak and we are imperfect and this is what we always wanted isn't it-- isn't it, Dave, isn't it?"

His assault is perfect and relentless, each Future Him reporting coordinates through Sollux and each past him swinging and waiting to report and spin again. A second passes, maybe, and he feels each swing of the sword, knows there are exactly eleven of him in this room, attacking in perfect unison and grace, and when Jade reappears he has to wait for all the Daves to vanish because she's in that perfect blind spot-

"This is what we always wanted isn't it -- isn't it, Dave, isn't it?"

The hatred solidifies, black and bile and arousal coagulating into a single entity, to hell with Vriska, he will kill this thing himself, and before he can reign it under control he's swinging again - this time for whatever he can hit-

"Look at me!"

-and he is in another place already, whispered coordinates and shooshing coming from Sollux in his mind, and he swings again-

"A freak like me-"

-spin, swing, spin, swing-

"-is your equal-"

-spin, swing, spin, swing, spinswingspinswing, and Sollux's calming little thoughts finally shatter through everything and he howls-

"Give Jade back to me!"

And she's hopping through space faster than she can think -- but at least there's another voice in her mind, soothing her, telling her it's okay. She's there for Jade, for at least part of Jade, and guides her through the steps like clockwork.

Give Jade back to me!

And she's floating in midair, because he can't touch her up here for now.

"No." Her voice is loud; she uses her powers to let it echo through the entire area, loud and forbidding. "Jade's gone Jade is go~one g--gone she's gone and Don't Worry Dave, Hypatia takes good care of her."

The thing with Jade's skin taunts him, mocking and prodding at him, and even Sollux will not stop him anymore. In a flash he is by Jade, not far enough back to even swing, and from his position parallel with the ceiling he slams his mouth and fangs into hers.

he wishes he could pass it off as irony, or some weird battle plan, but - all it is is anger and need and give jade back, give jade back, give jade back.

And then they're falling -- or she's falling -- because her mind isn't programmed to handle extenuating circumstances, and so when faced with overwhelming hatred that isn't provided in a way that's physically harmful, she doesn't really know what to do. Usually, this is when the small part of her mind that's still human takes over, kissing back or holding hands or whatever humans were expected to do.

Only Jade's human mind stopped aging at around sixteen, so currently her brain is doing backflips at being kissed by (a rather sharp, scary) Dave Strider. She hasn't kissed anyone in so long that she's not quite sure what to do.

So Jade's body goes into lockdown, sending her plummeting for the cityscape below.

Dave thinks of himself as a lot of things, loyal and almost knightly (but not quite) and willing to do anything to get his friends back, but after ten years human is no longer really in his lexicon, and the way he kisses her is anything but human. He is all sharp edges and hate - growls and fangs, cutting and sucking and hissing and purring, and even if he notices in the back of his head that she hasn't teleported away he's too busy licking at her (bloodied) bottom lip to do anything about it.

One hand tangles in her hair, right above her scalp, and pulls it taut as the other tightens in its grip at her back. Falling is inconvenient (if not exhilarating), and he starts flying upward in an attempt to counter her downward momentum.

When he draws blood, the circuits kick back in. Blood she understands -- emotions she does not -- and as soon as his tongue wipes across her bloody lips she's moving into action. Biting back with reinforced teeth, aiming a knee for his groin and screaming in robotic-sounding anger as he pulls at her hair.

Jade wants to teleport out of his grasp, but can't figure out how without bringing him along. Sure, getting him lost in the void between worlds would be kind of fun, but she can't really keep playing with him like that. This is the first time in a long while that she's actually losing the match. And she realizes what's at stake: her mind, her freedom. Forced into a cage until the effects of so-called science can reverse the damage done on her mind. Until someone can break through the firewalls and traps and turn her back. If there even is a back for someone like her.

She can't remember a back, anyway.

"Let me go you little bastard I'll rip your teeth out and yyyyyyy-- y-- you can't have me I won't go with you don't even try and take me away from Her she's my MotherMasterProgramming I need her so stop it!"

The glitches kick in full throttle in her voice, and Dave is suddenly acutely aware that he just tried to get jiggy with one brainwashed Jade Harley. (Sollux has a few things to say about that, too, mind you.) But that's not important, and Dave actually shooshes Sollux for the first time in god knows how long, because she's not teleporting.

She's.
Not.
Teleporting.

He has no fucking clue what triggered it, if it's this sort of proximity that she can't escape from, but if that's what it takes then fine. His grip tightens even harder, bringing Jade closer to him and

ow ow ow ow managing to absorb most of the blow to the crotch with some absurdly quick momentum shifting. Still, his grip doesn't waver for one second - this is the first breakthrough he's made in years. He isn't quitting now. If he has any say, he isn't quitting ever.

"Quit complaining, Jade. Jeez, take a chill pill already."

His voice manages to sound calmer than the tempest of excitement that it actually is, somehow.

She can't get away, and her programming is screaming in her mind you little fuckup is that how you want to play, do you really want to lose to him? So she's glitching bad, her motions irregular as she jerks and twitches in his hold. "I don't want to lose this let me go dave i ha-- ha-- hateyouhateyouhateyou letmego fuck you fuck you!"

Her robotic arm scrabbles for his face, sharp nails trying to sink into his skin -- but then she's trying to yank herself free-- and then

you don't even deserve to live if you can't even escape one little boy

the long, sharp nails that were just a second ago trying to maim him are now jamming themselves into her chest, ripping at skin and trying to break bone to hurt her, to make her die in the most painful way she can think of. And for a moment, she's almost completely human; the metallic shrieks and glitches turn into a pained, high-pitched scream as her own body attempts to decimate her.
